Rise Against's "Re-Education"

Well I finally did it. I finally had the patience to sit down and work with that silly music sequencer. And I think the end results are pretty astonishing :) Using a tuner, electric bass, electric guitar, an MP3 player, and several hours of my time; I have successfully made a Little Big Planet 2 rendition of the hit Rise Against song, Re-Education (Through Labour). It's the full song written with the exact same notes as the original song and as much of the drum fills as I could figure out. And since the thermometer wasn't close to being full, I decided to act out the official music video that accompanies the song.

Wow.. gotta love the fact that I've only recieved 3 plays for my level that I've spent 2 days creating. I'm getting really sick and tired of this broken sharing system. I propose a fix to the way levels are broadcasted... creations that have an alotted active creation time of 24 hours or more should be given an INSTANT BOOST to the front pages. I mean cmon... "FREE COSTUMES AND OTHER STUFF" is the number one level and all it is is a bunch of point bubbles scattered around and stupid costumes that someone made in a couple of minutes? Really?! Ugh...

i know its messed up, but its not the sharing system, its the people using/abusing them. if you have a bad level like free costumes bombs sharks, there have been those btw. the littluns will play for an easy giggle or free item. and heart accordingly, rather then go into an amazing level that takes dedication. and about making a new share system, its a well thought topic that everyone suggests an answer for. but the truth is, anything that can, will be abused. 24 hour idea = bad. they will go as far to leave there sytem on for days to cheat the level to the top... qif your level really is good... heres the way i believe is the most fair and intelegent way to go. have your friends and peaple you know play and if they liked it ask them to pass it on to there friends. your name will be spread that way. on lbpc they have a cool system called f4f you play there level from the f4f forum and they wil try your level and help spread the world. so if your level really is good, try some of these. good luck.

Well I proposed a 24 ACTIVE clock. It would definetly help a ton and nobody could really abuse it unless they honestly wanted to sit around with their friend in an empty level screwing around for an accumulated 24 hours lol. If so, then even then they might end up creating something interesting rather than the child who creates a scoreboard, a cutout of a sackperson, and stickers hearts everywhere.

Passing the word on to your friend would be great if I kept a long list of friends i'm not actually friends with. My friends list contains only my real friends and one player I met in a different forum who has helped me in the past. Even had I spammed a large list of friends, it would have only accumulated about 20 more plays at most.

As for the feedback for feedback system, that doesn't really help at all. Using that system, i got maybe 4 people total with my last level and fewer before that. And yes I left feedback for several other players to the point where I had to change the battery in my computer's mouse...

So yeah.. to put it simply, the system they created is certainly flawed as I've found more advanced levels by playing what my hearted creators have found. The only reason THEY find the levels is because they play the game religiously. GOOD levels should be made easy to find by ALL players, not just the pros. Therefore... Yes.. Media Molecule.. you have once again disappointed me XD And I have once again created a masterpiece that only a handful of people will actually witness. Like Jaslow above :P

Note: I'm currently working on making Savior now. This is loads of fun to remake these songs lol. I don't care if this doesn't get popular anymore cause these songs are just fun to listen to :)



OOooh.. and did I fail to mention? If this level does by some miracle happen to reach 1000 hearts, then I will reward everyone with a prize containing both Re-Education and Savior AND a bonus song that I won't reveal ;)

SAVIOR, i love that song,

*it kills me not to know this but i've all but just forgotton what the.....* XD

Yup, i'm at the clean guitar part now after the bridge, going into final chorus. That bridge took me forever to figure out. Lots of complicated rythms for this game lol.

I thought it was cute. I liked the little bunker they were in. Only thing I can suggest is making your city more detailed, and decorating your sackbots more, to give each one more of a personality and individual look.

Thank you for the good feedback Hammer. I'll definetly look into it. I tried to minimize the detail I gave to the sackbots but adding a little more shouldn't hurt. Also the city was a last minute concept I put in based on the ending of the actual video where the highest tower in the cityscape explodes, so I put in something really simple to show it's "little big planetness" if you will lol. But yeah I could add detail to that as well if it helps :)


Note: I have just finished the vocal line, rythm guitar, and bass for my next song level "Savior" from Rise Against. I plan on making a much more in depth music video based entirely off of the official music video. I'm looking at the entire Music sequencer right now and it is literally a quarter length of an entire empty level lol. This song is much longer than Re-Education XD I had much difficulty with the slow section but now that it's all together it sounds great! Idk if I'll get lots of plays on these, but heck, i sure like listening to them XD

The most important thing, is that you enjoy making them. Plays and hearts are secondary.

haha exactly :) It would be cool to get that Mm pick thing and get noticed by the developers, but other than that.. meh.. lol.

I finished "Savior" but I'm not so sure I should bother publishing it. This level has only recieved 23 total plays after being released 3 days ago and I've advertised it on two websites... Another creation I have wasted my time on clearly.

The song is well recreated, and the 'music video' adds so much. In my opinion, levels like this raise the bar for music levels, and anything without some sort of visual effect is lacking. There's nothing wrong with what's here, but maybe you could add some visuals outside of the bunker, such as a couple hints about the upcoming doom of the city. Regardless, watching the sackbots rock out is fun.

But yeah I agree with you Hoplyte, in the official music video for this song, the shots switch in and out from the band to the people planting the bombs. I thought about doing this but ...yeah.. lol. I got lazy XD Plus I was really just trying to showcase the song and the visual element was just a last minute concept. I'm working on "Savior" now but can't figure out what I want to do for it. I started by recreating the official video, but now i think i wanna do something more like a sldieshow with really well done pictures
