5 New Levels, A "Paintinator" Powerup, and New Trophies

Looks like there's some awesome new content coming in a Metal Gear Solid pack for LittleBigPlanet, including 5 new levels, new content to collect, a Paintball Gun powerup (lovingly dubbed the Paintinator), and a bunch of new trophies! This should definitely expand the possibilities in LittleBigPlanet, and make for a much more creative experience. No price or release date has been announced as of yet, but we'll update as soon as it has been. Since Sony has already updated the official trophy page with this information, the content probably isn't very far away. Keep your eyes peeled for this, it'll be a great addon that you won't want to miss out on! The full list of new trophies is below.

Virtual Survivor

Achieve a score of 3750 in the VR survival challenge

Speedy Rexecutioner

Destroy the metal gear rex boss in under 2 minutes 30 seconds.

Call me a trophy whore all you want, but I can't wait to get some more trophies. >_<

At least we know now that there will be such huge packs as this. and then the Paintball gun... never thought they'd add guns to LBP.

Hopefully it will only unlock it so you can use it in Create mode, and you won't need to buy this pack to play levels with it in...

And it seems I'll get the Snake costume after all! It will probably be prize bubbles in these levels, same as the other ones...

And a Metal Gear REX boss... I don't know, it's just awesome that it's pratically confirmed (I WOULD be suspicious if it wasn't for the trophies working when comparing trophies with other users after the updates- but since that does work, it's true all right. =D).

They're on the trophy list when you compare with a friend, I havn't seen them posted on any of the news sites but you can see one in the screenshot in your post.

i sure do hope that they bring out more of these in the future, (maybe they will keep up the content like Criterion games did for Burnout Paradise) maybe bringing back ol crash bandicoot as a costume or having themed levels after him. this one and future ones are going to be GREAT

Alright, they've been added and the list has been reformatted so it looks prettier. :)

So this paintball thing is a powerup..Guess we won't see any painted pods then.

...I don't get the Paintinator joke.

Considering that DLC news is normally a few days before release and the XMB trophy list (on compare) has been updated next tuesdays store update could have the DLC.

But they are each in separate sections, and for different reasons. This thread is mainly for nonmembers, actually. It's formatted for the front page. There's one in News Submission, which is good because it prompted me to get this thread up in the first place. The one in LittleBigPlanet News is for you guys more than anything; that's why that forum is open for new threads, unlike this one.

Please please please let us use the gun in creator mode, lol me and my brother are each making levels this would be awesome in.

One of the trophies is given for using it in a level you publish, so it's pretty safe to say you'll be able to use it. :)

If a level is published with the Paintinator - does that mean that I can't load that level unless I purchase the update?

That would suck tremendously. Even for $ony. So maybe this update will be free?

I think it's quite likely that you pay to use it in your own levels. I'm sure levels with the paintinator are available to everyone.

I never buy downloaded content, but this might be an exception. MGS levels!? Holy crap, they are going to be amazing.
