Paint like a.. semi-pro!
Hey all! I see no sticker paint tutorials so I think I'm good to go :)
Anyways. I just want to give the community a couple of helpful tips I use when using the paint tool. If you are struggling with the paint tool on LBP then listen up.
Let's begin!
Base:
When making shapes try setting up a sticker that looks like what you are about to draw. You could use the Choose Background option in the start menu as well. For example, head over to the doodles section and select the happy sackboy face. Paint it on the canvas and then switch back to the circle brush to color it in.
Like this it seems more like a coloring book :D (and if you haven't already realized, the Choose Color option is a lot more advanced than it seems. Press [L1] while you're in it)
Lines:
Next, to get detailed lines you have 2 options.
First:
USE THE STICKERS, LUKE! Stickers make paint a whole lot easier because even if you hold down [T] on the move controller it will only place one sticker. You can either set the sticker to a color and paint away even lines, or you can use the sticker in the eraser tool and cut away nice lines.
Second:
If you just feel more comfortable with the circle brush then fear not. When erasing sometimes the color of the cursor and the color of what you're about to erase clash(or are the same color). When this happens try to stay off of what you plan to erase. Once you're ready to erase hold down [T] and lightly bump the edges. You're more likely to get a uniform line.
:star:Remember to do each stroke (whether painting or erasing) one at a time. It makes undoing SO much easier
Background:
If your picture has a complicated background and you don't want to destroy it make each layer a separate painting. Then, Make a new painting and add all the layers together. Note: The saved painting's quality is lower.
Custom sticker:
Sometimes the stickers provided by the game don't have the shape you'd like. In that case, use the paint tool to make your own brush/eraser! :P
Thanks!
