I know Omega but we were told not to this time round; earlier in the thread. The only exception given was for brief pockets of air (and even then you have to remain in the water).
The only reason I'm getting involved in this is to make sure the creator doesn't get disqualified as I don't think that anyone who puts effort in should meet that fate and looking at the photos the effort is there but so is a fatal flaw. Hopefully you get my point.

or maybe take a look at the minigame in POTC pack there could be a shinny sliver trophy in it for u=p
Just finished my level and its coming in at, without deaths, 1 min 35 seconds. Will that be ok timewise? I've noticed too that water creates a random drag and affects sackboy differently, sometimes slowing you down too fast. Only occurs occasionally though but it can hamper the experience.

Some of the speed weirdness has to do with the animation for using http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/images/2/21/X_button.png underwater. If Sackboy is moving through water slowly, http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/images/2/21/X_button.png will make him swim faster. If he is moving very quickly, http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/images/2/21/X_button.png will cause him to brake in a dramatic fashion. The animation initiated by http://wiki.lbpcentral.com/images/2/21/X_button.png continues for a second after it is released, however, so the end of the fast swim cycle can still kill his momentum even if you've released the button.
It is an interesting puzzle for players trying to swim quickly. They want to push the button to go faster but need to stop pressing it well before they get launched by whatever launch-y thing the level uses. Release too soon and it takes longer to launch... release too late and the launch is cut in half! Devious. :D
oh i do have a small question i forgot to ask in my auto scrolling post. just to make sure, would a fast underwater auto scrolling level be considered a fast pace underwater level according to the rules? it's the level itself that is being emitted and moving fast, not the sackperson themselves. from my point of view it should be fine since the rules just mostly said a speedy pace underwater level, don't think it said Sack had to be exactly moving fast itself. :P *mew

The challenge now is making the scroller unique, but then again... I expect a non scroller level to do just as well... if not better.
Well I'm gonna be trying to mix both level types in tbh. also just to say, mine i've done before are pretty unique... well of course not many people in general have seen my levels. most of my levels are a work in progress still on my moon with only a handful of my friends who have tested them :P *mew

Surely if you didn't check the copy option while publishing you're ok?
Also... you should all do what game developers do... publish it under a pseudo name (eg. Project Aqua Vita) and then switch to the LBPC8 title a few days before the deadline... this will help protect your levels from potential cheaters.

People are lvl snooping ? Haa. I never put my spawn gate reachable for sneaky players to see till its time. Maybe a lockcode in the lvl to teleport u to the starting point so no one can be nosey. Its why i do. I might a few convos behind . Busy building :)
I have now put a hazordous object in the start area so if you do get in ZAP! so im not too worried about anymore people getting in. My level was onyl 50% done anyways
Heyo , i know im a couple topics behind behind but did someone say jetpacks work underwater? How? Cause if this is possible i would use for a quick boss battle for ending. Otherwise that dea will be trashed, cause all speed will be lost to stop to fight off a serious sea creature. Haa. Or unless you were chased i guess. :)
no... it was said that they should work underwater... but due to the developers choice they don't
it was also suggested (by me) to make your own aqua pack as this will demonstate a higher level of originality

but it would still need to hold 4 minutes of entertainment for the crew... so stopping it being too repetitive is the problem.
To be honest when I'm making my level, making 4 mins. is hard because I have to think of new sections and make them work. This harder for me because the way I set it up!
