Gais,
I'm entering with my level.
It's called "Sooper fast underwater bom surval, with real boms...and fake sharks".
I'll take my crown in the mail, I assume?
*Disclaimer: Level may not actually exist, and vale may be sarcastic.
I'm doing very good, I enjoy blogging so I might seem random.
@ 0031benjy: Go for it, I feel like it won't be an issue if it's just an opening scene.
@ Valeview Hmm... make them real sharks and then you'll be a worthy contender ;)
@moose6293 yeah I just come on here everytime I take a break from creating. Working underwater for an extended period of time isn't good for my sanity... it's...it's creepy down there!
@Nick cool.
I've noticed when ever I create that my thermo doesn't fill, is that normal I have a huge level and it is 1/4 and I finished my main gameplay. Just need to add what makes it fast.
Does anyone know where I could buy a camera for my PS3 so I can take pics of my level and upload them online here?
you don't need to buy anything... upload the picture in game and pull it from lbp.me
Full guide here:
http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/sho...LittleBigPhoto
Take a picture using your popit (Or start menu picture option) then find that picture, export it to HDD. Now turn off LBP2. Go to your pictures and Copy those pictures to a flash drive. Put your flash drive in your computer, upload... put them on photobucket or some photo hosting site. THen use the IMG file and post it in a thread to show off your level.
There.. that's how I do it. Very tedious process but worth it.
I wouldn't recommend this way because the resolution of the image is poor if taken from the website. Also, David's method can only be done with a published level. If you want to show sneak peeks of your level without having actually published it then use my method.
the image is not "poor" if taken off LBP.me Just do this
What you're going to need to do to make it better looking is to look at the areas in red...
http://i9.lbp.me/img/fl/04953ef8ef34a65e765c7b739c3ecf5f2b8b8702.jpg
...and change them to what is highlighted blue, changingfl to ft enlarges the image and changing jpg to pngenhances the quality of it too.
http://i9.lbp.me/img/ft/04953ef8ef34a65e765c7b739c3ecf5f2b8b8702.png
and here is the results of that
JPG verson

ang PNG version

and it doesn't have to be a publish level. You can take a picture of your pod and post it to LBP.me, you can take pictures of things on your moon and post it. where are you getting your info?
the differences are subtle but they are there. Look at the "fuzz" around the lights in the first pic. Also, the whole image is a little more crisper and lighter. And that level is freaking cool, it's from our very own aselrahc and the level is The Land of Crumb
The resolution of those pictures is not as crisp as they would have been if taken from your PS3 directly trust me. The actual picture file taken in game is down converted into a smaller format to be used on the LBP.me website. You'll get a higher res picture with great anti-alaising if taken straight from the source file. Even uploading it to photobucket like i suggested reduces it's overall quality to an IMG file like you mentioned.
Also when I said you can't upload, i meant you can't upload to level and take it to LBP.me unless the levels published. Like for example when you play someones level and try to upload your own photo from outside of that persons level, it doesn't upload to that levels page, it uploads to your own profile.
Question: What level is that? That actually looks pretty good XD
but how long did it take me? 25 whole seconds. worth it to me. :) I've done it the other way, exporting to HDD, then to thumbdrive, then to computer then, wait, if I upload an image to LBPC it comes out like this:
Attachment 39911
wow, I can't even see that plus I had to click the link just to see it.
So now, I HAVE to use a websource anyway, if I want my picture bigger and directly in the thread.
Uploading to photobucket, picassa (my choice) IMGUR or any others, or wait, I could just hit [] on the popit, choose picture and upload to LBP.me. no need to sign up for an image hosting site.
But, we're getting off topic, I digress.
That image was a much bigger but when you upload to LBPC it shrinks it down super small. See, here is a wallpaper that is 1024x768. uploaded directly from my PC
Attachment 39912
Wow yeah that's wierd. Well for now on I'll be using LBP.me to upload my images haha. Thanks for the advice ;)
Ok thanks for the answers that would help I will get some of it later and it's going. THANKS!
Man now I kinda want to build levels above the surface. I have so many awesome ideas now thanks to this creating experience ;)
I will probably be making my bird-eye view RPG once I finish. This is a very good way to have a sack learn how to create well with water.
EDIT:
Oh yea. This experience is a good winning for everybody
EDIT:
Just wanted to say I am 1/4 done with my entire "rushed" gameplay.
Yeah I'm pretty much 80% done with my level. It's looking good. Taking a break for a week or so from it.
LBPC "YU-Kamone" already has a Crown! I messaged him saying give others a chance and Now he has hidden it! Something must be done.
In the event that a winner has a crown, this shiny goody is generally awarded to second place. The pin however will still go to the winner and therefore nobody should be discouraged from entering.
The only thing you can do is attempt to build a better level and win the crown yourself, everybody will be given an equal chance no matter what their current lbp history is.
Hmmm... How will you have him show you if he has the crown?
The last two pages are almost entirely 3 people o.o
...I say almost. LEt me emphasise this, so no-one complains. Almost. Almost Almost. Almost.
There's not much else for other people to talk about. I just finished my classes last week so I've been trying to aquire some info on this contest. And David and Biorgue have been answering very nicely.
Also so what if Yu-Kamone has a crown. I still want to play his level! I played his stuff the other day and it was so awesome! Can't wait to see what he thinks of underwater!
hehe well i for one am just excited to play soe GOOD water levels for once ;)
Yea me two. I will have fun seeing YU-KAMONE's level. (I just think it is odd to enter the crown contest with a crown.)
Mmmmmm, a creative and nice contest we have here! Water-based levels are usually boring because they are sloooow, so this is definitely a great idea, especially if the creators know how to use the water-physical properties, along with the use of propellers or whatever they use to make the player go really fast. A good challenge!
Eh I entered the contest for the sake of the contest and I don't find that odd. Yu-Kamone is probably doing the same. It's just a fun contest :)
@yugnar: i know right! I'm loving this. Next contest should focus on these creative combinations of things. Perhaps make a compilation level that encompasses all of LBP into one level ;)
YES! I finally got my ps3 fixed, I just hope I can finish it in time.
Why is it so difficult to make a bright happy atmosphere underwater?
AAAAAAnd... it broke again. -_-
oops, double post, sorry
I got a crown too guys but I'm entering for the fun and to try and get that shiny smexy pin lol. :p
