Minecraft

Could anyone tell me how to make my own server? I want to make one for my friend and I but every guide I find seems to be different and you have your own server so how'd you make it?

No, Bukkit does still lag, it laggs less, but still makes it so laggy almost unplayable, so we should NOT turn mobs on.

It's depending on the computer, and the requirements are pretty low. Even my PC with 2GB RAM and 2GHz single core CPU can run a server with mobs lag-free.

We wouldn't need that as long as we light it up enough,
I think it might be a good idea to turn monsters on. Just as long as we get a good warning.

Bukkit doesn't lag, unfortuantely it's your connection. You live in Brazil, the server is being hosted in USA. It might be because of that fact, or your computer. However I've had very very little lag compared to MCAdmin.

Reason why I've been thinking about turning mobs on is because of a plug-in called MonsterHunt.

Everynight the server would give an announcement that the Monster Hunt is about to begin, you sign up for it if you want to join. The Monster Hunt begins and you begin killing mobs, at the end of the MonsterHunt it tallies up the person with the most kills, announces the winner and rewards them with whatever I choose as the reward, be it diamonds or whatever.

And it'll only work if we have mobs on. That's all.

Hey I would like to apply to the whitelist, mainly because TJB0607 is my good friend and he is always raving about this server and now i want to get on too...
albeit i dont OWN lbp (or a PS3/PSP) i do like it and play it occasionally. I have been active on may other minecraft servers and I am also a admin on another server. I HAVE NEVER GRIEFED.

I'm...I'm not sure the city is going to work out as planned. Inanimacy is cheating for everything he does (thus ruining the point of building the city without cheats) and constantly ruining all my work (killing my dogs, blowing up my house, flooding my house, just plain out griefing it) and everyone just laughs at what he does, thinks he's being funny and when I call him out, they think I'm being immature and should just let him do it and say nothing. They'll probably come onto the thread claiming otherwise, but meh that's what they always do, can't tell you who to believe.
At this rate, all everyone really cares about is the mods and wolves anyways. The city really doesn't have a point it seems, it's just walls with things inside. So yeah, I'm going to be called out as usual for voicing my opinion but I don't care anymore.

I think the city is working out fine. And the big thing is, you just need to ignore them if they say something...they know you get mad easy and you are an easy target. They wouldn't mess with you if you didn't get so worked up, like you are now.

Sort of hard to ignore them when they grief everything you've ever made and kill your dogs :L

if they say I am going to kill this dog and you didn't pay attention to it...I am sure it would not have happened. And they did not grief everything you made, so don't be so dramatic. Just let it go. You can talk to whaaaaale about it when he gets on if you are upset by it.

I didn't say anything. I just said 'D:', and a minute later Inanimacy just killed him. He has griefed everything I have made in that server, and I have talked to Whaaaaale about it.

It's not about the **** dog. It's about everybody worshiping Inanimacy and thinking he's great, when all he does is spend his whole day trolling people twice as young as him then feels proud (like he accomplished something GREAT in his life) and make immature jokes. How come everubody hates every trolls (Make_My_Dinner for example), but just because Inanimacy makes a few jokes, he's great?
