I say, if there are no restrictions, no problem with it. And by restrictions I also mean things like making a diamond sword only to find out it is as efficient as an iron one because of your class. Class bonuses are fine and cool, but any restrictions is an instant no.
Keep it. Think of this like an MMO, guys. That's what it's for. You choose your class and unlock specific things for it. It actually gives you something to do. It takes away from the monotany. You've had it for less than a week and you're complaining about it. Give it a chance to actually get used to it.
If the class restrictions are the biggest problem, then we can get rid of that but keep the actual plugin. Or just add more classes for a greater diversity.
Personally, I like it for all the reasons stated above. The only things I have against it is that there isn't enough of an XP penalty when you die and that the enchanting is broken. Other than that, I see no reason to get rid of it.
I would vote to get rid of it. I believe Minecraft wasn't made to be like a crappy MMORPG... unless you add some more RPG elements... then it would be like a mine-paradise.
Ok this is starting to get serious so... Don't count my vote for or against it. I don't even get on the server that much anymore so I feel like my vote isn't really valid.
ok i can understand the restriction thing, and that can easily be fixed. I'm trying to fix it so anyone can use alchemy/enchanting as normal, so that isn't an issue. however, I would still like to keep the scaling of weapons (warrior is good with swords, better with axes; rogues melt faces with bows, good with swords; mages arent' too great at any melee but can more literally melt people's faces) and i could probably get the default class to simply not have any changes whatsoever. so you'd have to CHOOSE to use the stuff from the plugin.
If i can pull this off, would it get the twist out of everyone's collective undergarments?
edit: on second thoughts, I'd still have all the passive skills (taming, woodcutting, mining, etc.) as all they do is make it a bit less irritating.
If the default class would be like playing without the restrictions of the plugin, then yes I would like that. :)
I have NO problems with this plugin at all except the restrictions. Take away the restrictions, and Im all for it. :kz: And yes, I think different classes should be better with swords/axes than others, but not so much as to the point where a diamond sword is only dealing one heart if you are a "Rogue".
This is what I meant by not liking the new stuff. Things change and your stuff gets lost. You have, after all the hours you spent on a server, to start over. I think you could keep all the stuff if there were also an official vanilla server. All I want is a plain vanilla server, with maybe /home /sethome /back and teleporting to individuals by permission of that individual.
but the maps are finite as a rule (guideline? eh, whatever.). you can't expect to play the same one for a couple of years. it'd get old. and really, really big.....
at any rate, yea. so I'll work on making as much of the new set up optional as possible, but i like it too much to remove it completely. once we get things working like they are in my head it should be all good, till then, that's all i can/will do on the matter.
guys, the new snapshot is out!
And (oddly enough the day after talking about how much I want this feature) WRITABLE BOOKS ARE NOW IN THE GAME!
As well as multi colored half slabs, that now act as WOOD instead of STONE!

Looks like 1.3 is going to be a great update!
I really like that it'll need leather, Mainly because I like having a crafting recipe that MAKES SENSE.
And leather is super easy to get now, so it won't be much harder than it is now.
But I'm really happy about writable books because that means I can finally make a Grand Library and have books with Fables, lores, tips, stories, and all sorts of stuff I can make to vent my creative urges.
Plus, books will be able to be used for messaging purposes as well, Leaving books in people's mail boxes with messages will be great.
Become? They already are. Three sugar cane for three pieces of paper, three pieces of paper for one book, and three books for ONE bookshelf. Hardly ever bothered with those things.
Also, werent writable books an original feature, but notch took them out really early on?
MC Logic: Three books + Six plank blocks = 1 block, with around 72 books.
Well, I guess that writeable books could be somewhat useful. Maybe they can make some kind of table where you can place public reading books, or even books that everyone can write on. I guess kinda like a to-do list.
Aww yeah, check it out!

(the Jerry he's referring to was a little pet slime he had in his Minecraft survival videos)
People have been waiting for this for so long! We won't need signs of edited maps to tell backstories and lore anymore!
Ok, so we already have 2 (?) Towns, Aeropolis and Greenview, but I was debating about making a town, but I dont want us to have too many towns, and last time I made a town it turned out pretty well. (Hobs) So Ill leave it up to you if you want another town, and I need ideas on where to put it. :p
Just did my first ban on Bags server... :o
If some guy named Really_New joins, ban him. He griefed and stole. Then, when I jailed him, he yelled:
Spoiler - Censor
So yeah... I suggest dealing with him ASAP if he joins. :I
I did some work on greenview cemetery, Dayne, I hope you don't mind.
I made it a bit more spooky, I made it so it's ALWAYS dark, so it looks pretty freaky.
I also put just A BIT of detail on the inner pillars of herobrine's tomb, I put some mossy stone bricks, and added some vines in some places, to make it look old, and worn out.
I also added a proper entrance to the cemetery, with a sign.
Here's an interesting series about building a medieval fantasy realm:
Let's Build: A Castle (part 1 out of 4) : Sjin builds a medieval castle.
Let's Build: A Kingdom (part 1 out of 4, still ongoing) : Sjin builds a city to go with the castle.
Watching videos is the only way for me to appease my desire to play Minecraft :(
Yay! the forum is back! everyone do the dance of joy!
...uh. anyways....erm...OH yea! I've got most of the irritating things working right on the server now. just gotta figure why chanting doesn't wanna play nice. Oh and i gotta fix the classes/skills.
So I made a video during the week-long take down.
