So there has been a problem with the Res axe, and I was wondering if anyone had the same problem, or if there was something changed. Right now, at least for Cory and I, the Res commands don't read the wooden axe's selections. The axe shows the purple selection text, but when the we typed in /res create [name], it gave us an error saying no points were selected. If anyone has the same problem, or knows what is up with this, post about it please.
the latest round of updates gimped it somehow. i couldn't figure it out so i changed the item. use a blaze rod and it'll work.
The dynmap doesn't seem to work on my computer anymore. :( Every time I open it a script-error pop-up comes up.
Instead of a blaze rod, can we make it something easier? Like a shear? or a wooden shovel?
how does a stick sound? I gots no problem with a stick. though I'm pretty certain i chose that for a reason. eh. whatever.
Moar cool tripwire experiments:

They should seriously implement redstone logic gates in vanilla Minecraft. It would reduce the size of some machines by tenfold.
I'm remaking the Hoenn region in Minecraft.
Here are some pics.

Who would've known something so pixelated and blocky could be so dramatic.
There's certain things that Mojang refuses to include to ensure it doesn't mess with the general theme. They want the vanilla version to be truly vanilla, so that modders and artists get to make stuff that doesn't conflict with the core elements of the game.
You want advanced technology in Minecraft? Install the Technic Pack. Want the game to be focused on combat? Install More Weapons or Firearms mod. Want the game to be about wizardry? Install Equivalent Exchange.
That's a dumb way of looking at it. Minecraft's base needs to evolve. We can't always rely on mods. Look at the latest updates from Mojang. There is literally nothing innovative in the updates. Why should I have to install a mod to have advanced technology in the game?
Let's also not forget about the nuisance of always having to revert back to vanilla after every update to the game, I then have to wait patiently until the mod creator decides to update his mod (and that's IF he updates his mod, there are a lot of people that simply stop updating their mods.)
A sandbox game is suppose to include everything they can possibly add. It is then up to us (the creators) to choose what we want to use/not use.
Minecraft has been out for a while and it's so depressing to see how many little updates they have brought out. Vanilla Minecraft is just sad boring. There is not enough to do and the world is so dead. Where are the birds? The fishes?
I appreciate the NPCs and think that's the only good update coming out. But they are so few and far apart that the game needs to start "messing with the general theme" (whatever that means). :p
Maybe they could incorporate some of the mods that change the core gameplay experience, but when you generate a new world, it could be an option. So you choose if you want that world to be based around certain things. Keeps people from having to install mods, lets people who want new experiences to have their fun, and lets people who want pure vanilla to have it.
They should add Redpower, 'cause redstone sucks!
Aye, you could ignore what you don't want to play with... but those things would get in the way nonetheless.
Imagine Mojang included advanced thecnology elements to the game, not unlike the technic pack. And imagine you have a medieval fantasy world so you don't want to have anything to do with all that stuff. But even if you wanted to ignore it, the oil and a bazillion new ores would get in the way of your mining.
Minecraft needs to evolve. I never said otherwise. But it needs to evolve in a way that doesn't force you into a certain theme. The general theme is: "none". It's neither medieval, nor modern, nor futuristic, nor steampunk... it's just vanilla, it doesn't have a specific style. It needs to remain that way, a blank slate so that people can customize it like they want. You need to use mods for that, so what? It's not the end of the world.
That's why Mojang are working on the Mod API. Once it's done, it'll mean we can easily install mods in-game and they won't needed to be updated with every game update. As well as making all mods work in either SP or MP without the need for players on the server to manually install mods to play on the server. It'll effectively be like the mods are a part of vanilla that can be turned on and off in a menu.
Extending off of what Speedy said, you could select an era you would like to play in: Colonial, Industrial, Medieval, Modern, Etc.. But honestly... you can't be that lazy to not use the API.
I personally hated the fact Ender Chests were public. I wonder though, on servers that used the snapshots, what happens to the contents of a previously open Ender Chest? Does it completely disappear, or does everyone get a copy of it, thus duplicating all the items?
I might run a few tests to see if no one knows.
I think it's fairly balanced. Each one gets his own, but it isn't as practical as it was before. Well, who knows, plugins?
Jeb makes public Ender Chests. People complain about them not being individual. Jeb makes individual Ender Chests. People complain about them not being public.
ಠ_ಠ
perhaps he should add another recipe for public ones? like a diamond or gold block at the top for public and the regular way for private?
Agreed. Why could he not add both? He has the basic coding down. Sigh...
I could already see how public chests would work. Guy in the mines getting resources while the others are out on the surface building. Wouldn't have to constantly have one guy going in and out of mines.
Yea, And I guess our post-office idea is ruined in a way. Could still be done manually, but not as fun :(
