Found a nice little server with a whitelist... :D Finally... After weeks of searching... o.O It's a creative server that still has mobs... So I can go seclude myself in the wilderness without actually being lonely! :D And there's like 15 nether portals... So you always have something to do... :3
It's called The World of Ender. It's free, friendly, and fun! :D The 3 'F's' I always look for... xD

Our Hosting provider who provides service, to out Atlantic Datacenter Located in Orlando Florida, will be closing its doors today. Minecraft.cm was provided no notice. We apologize for this inconvenience. All servers will be offline at roughly 12pm 10/4/2011 and will remain offline for no more than 24 hours. However we expect the server to be back online within a few hours.
Users IP's Will change, And all users will be notified. Your servers will still be intact, but you will have a new ip.
Memo do I have perms on the server? When ever I type /help it says Bukit cannot do this. Bukit will leak tears or something

I am fairly certain that the new world is corrupted. at least thats what the logs say when i try to start the thing. I'm gonna make sure that is the case before i say so definitively.....

it may(!) be an error on the server side that is causing the thing to not read the worlds, though that is a long shot.

far as i can tell (i have to check manually, mind you) that's all intact. i guess the level corrupted when they yanked the server. Possible i can get them to use a backup from the previous day.

I'm willing to host a temporary server for the LBPC Minecraft-playing community on a computer on my home network. I've set it up so far so that it's usable, but so that skills, jobs, inventories & other character-attributes can be kept consistent, would someone involved in the admin-side of the server be able to send me information such as what plugins they'd like implemented, what sort of map (for the temporary world), etc.?
Edit: The temporary world can be the world that was previously being used, before the server downtime, if that'd be more preferable for the community as a whole
So how long do you expect the server to be down, Memo?

I've submitted tickets for the problems with the server host. Seeing as the guy tends to respond within the hour, i'd give it.....well i dunno whats wrong, but we'll see right?

If the server goes down again, or if a temporary solution is still wanted, I can host it as creative at first, and then attempt to migrate the creations into a multi-player survival map, if that's possible (sorry - I've little experience with Creative Mode).Quote:

Cant seem to log onto the server
Notch and Jeb have mentioned that they are going to crank out as many new features as they can for ~2 weeks, then stop all major updates to hammer out all the bugs they can for the month before MineCon/the first full release. This means that it won't be long before everything is as it was before!

Ok so I created a floating island as I said I would. However, its been several hours, and the dirt I placed on the top STILL hasnt grown any grass. I even tried putting in water around it(not ON it) and nothing. Whats up with that? Also, the server just went down.
Grass spreads. A dirt block requires grass nearby in order for it to spread.Quote:

Funny, 10 minutes after posting that I a. was able to log back into the server and b. discovered way more than I wanted to know about growing grass. Its working now though. When I come back in the morning, my island had better be covered.
If you right click the air with a hoe so it says "You ready your Hoe" then right click on the patch of dirt (or cobble) it will turn it into grass (or mossy cobble) depending on if you have seeds in your inventory.Quote:
