It didnt work. I tried connecting once, it failed, now it "cant reach server".

Actually no, it says communication error on the server list page. Huh.

I can see that there are 2 people on the server but it wont allow me to connect. :/

Da comrade. Everyone, even though on the server list menu thing it says theres a problem with the server, try it anyway. It works.

I just get a ton of "End of Stream" errors.

With the full game released, Minecraft now works on my computer :) What is the new server adress?

I really hate to say it, but I've got a little bored of minecraft... and it's only just released D: Really dissapointed how they abandoned the villages for final release. Still doesn't feel like a full game. The End is apparantly nothing special either.

They're hiring someone to work on villager AI in December, so there will probably be a big village update early next year. The End does feel really unfinished, but that doesn't mean they can't update that either.

Hey, so I got a decent computer yesterday, I just got internet back today (I moved) and I just so happen to have Minecraft now. I'm kind of a noob, but yeah. Trying to learn some stuffs. Am I able to join you guys on the LBPC server? I already have the common sense to know what to not do to annoy people. Just need a bit of pointers and stuff. :p

Also a question about skins. If I were to download a skin and use it, would it appear for everyone? Or would only I be able to see it?

It would appear for everyone (the skin). Don't get used to this world because we will be installing Bukkit when it is released for 1.0.

BTW, Mem, may I please have the 1.8.1 world because I made something that was really important to me and I don't want to lose it.

Now uhh, not sure if I'm gonna sound stupid or anything but will I need to download any mods or anything to play with y'all, or is everything already in the server by default?

I made a quick skin by the way, and it looks somewhat decent... Have to try again though. ;)

Nope. Server mods don't need to be downloaded, they're there by default.

You can of course download mods to use that aren't on the server like minimaps that may work on SMP.

Today I learned you can make Minecraft auto login as you. I found it on the Minecraft forum and thought I'd share.

1. Go to your Minecraft shortcut (or make one, it needs to be a shortcut).
2. Right click it, go to properties and then the shortcut tab.
3. Type your username and password right after the target, like this:

4. Click apply and now every time you open Minecraft from that shortcut, it will automatically login with those details.

You can also put in a server IP after the password and it will log straight into that server. So you could have different shortcuts for different servers and stuff.

Also, there's a slightly unstable version of Bukkit available now (here), are we going to use this one of wait for the full release?

We don't use release candidates. Only reccommended builds, as i don't want to scrape the remains of unstable ones off of the server's SQL tables again.



Also, to clear up some confusion about the server rules: There is a reason we had a word filter. There is a reason we don't let people be arses to everyone, and there is a reason that you SHOULD NOT BUILD GIANT WANGS on the server. This is a semi-family-friendly environment we are trying to cultivate here. lets not go out of our way to do things that will make me spawn you into a 2 by 2 bedrock box in the middle of a lava pool, mmkay?

seriously folks, the fact that i've had to point this out for the second time is enough to make me haz a sad.

I've been browsing the Bukkit plugins available, and was wondering if this would become of any use once the RB comes out? It's a plugin to help ration the server's disk usage properly, and reduce lag. Could be worth a shot?

So apparently, the Yogscast acted like complete jerks at Minecon. They swore constantly at their panel in front of little children (which isn't the end of the world but still bad), demanded to be paid when no one else did, claimed they were the reason Minecraft was so popular (when really they started doing their videos when the ball started rolling, thanks to Seananners and X), and when a kid asked for their autograph, they wrote '**** Off'. Now Minecraft's community is split in half and everyone is clawing at each other's necks!
