This is their first serious review, its biased sure but still.

Hola. I decided to come back and visit this site, so I came in here to see what's going on. Anywho, I can't help but respond to this:
You probably don't watch too much TBG. This is an actual review. For real. Yes, they do fake ones on purpose to p*ss off people, but this is truly their only real one. It is very VERY hard not troll with this review Minecraft when it really is everything they said it was in the video. You hardly need any effort to criticize Minecraft because of the many flaws it has, and Notch himself is becoming a jerk.
So yes, it is to troll people. However, they didn't even need to lie in order to get people mad: this is an honest review.
Yogscast is known for their rude remarks, although I still feel like Notch had it coming. They (Yogscast) interviewed him and they were talking about rather innapropriate content (masturbating) and yet they had a good laugh. Notch invited them to come over to the Minecon, which he should have known was a bad idea. He then bashed on them for their behavior as though he never met them before.
Well, according to Yogscast, some of the stuff Notch said was a complete lie. Although your inclined to believe yogscast because they seem more mature(bear in mind theyve had like a week to write this out("getting rest" my a**)), I have to wonder... WHos lieing? Also, another thing... In that post, they say "it wasnt what they expected when they go off the plane from minecon", yet in an earlier post by them, it said they would "respond to his tweets when they got back from their 24 hour flight." Maybe it was just one of their many flights back to the UK they got off of? And so they still had a lot more flying to do?
I believe Yogcast more than Notch. Simply because I hate Notch with a passion. He doesn't give a rat's *** about the people that buy his game (see review above).
He just wants the money money.
Also the fact that he tweeted and said...
And then....Quote:

Im glad Yogscast didnt cast a rude remark back. They handled it very well.
Ugh.. can we please move on from the whole notch and Yogscast thing? We've established that it was all notch's fault, possibly as a result of being tired and/or drunk. But ultimately, he's admitted to being in the wrong and apologised, so I don't get why people are still talking about this.
K sounds good.
So does anyone know when we can get the Bukkit server updated and get all of our plugins back? Still don't really feel my stuff is safe without chest locks, although i know none of you would do something like that. Also reminding everyone that if you're in survival and there's no other food, grab a fishing rod and get fish, because fish are always there.
Also, Memo, I've heard you can make an auto-restart Spleef arena using Bukkit.
Quick note, Kernel has taken it upon himself to save the world (literally!) every couple of hours, so we don't lose stuff to corruptions.
A self-fixing spleef arena would be... Desirable.
save...do what now?
Here are some ideas I've compiled with others for our next world with Bukkit:
-Remove creative mode from mods.
-Add a ranking system that isn't just "Player, mod, admin".
-Control mods so they, not just players, have to follow the rules.
-Punish both players and mods if they don't follow rules. (Warn, Kick, Jail, Jail longer, Jail and Exile, Ban)
-Allow players to have more freedom, with rules and powers. ( May seem contradictory with the rule above, so let
me explain. There will be more general rules that contain specific rules, and if they are broken, severity
and/or repetition will be the final factors in punishment.)
-Encourage good behavior, using a ranking system and giving rewards to good, civil helpers.
-Vote on rules at the start of our next world. These rules should include "basic server rules", but player, mod AND
admins should vote on other rules, such as mod usage.
Feel free to add, remove, or talk about any or all of the rules on this list. I truly hope this list will make our next world one of the best and most enjoyable.

Out of... boredom(?)... can anyone quietly slip me the LBPC sever address? I need more options besides the one server I have now...
Not a fan of the ranking thing, never been supportive of elitism.
The others are awesome though
I...am beginning to think that i have missed some things.
Creative WILL be removed from the mods, but this being a temporary world i didn't care too much to op them so they could do some admin stuff.Quote:

rankings, hrm. i dunno. i'm not even fond of the one we have, TBH. if yer talking about powers, that might just happen, but no promises from the gnome on that point.Quote:

Rules....Yea. perhaps I should start a thread for that discussion instead of clogging up this one any more than we already do. we'll get to that in a day or so i suspect.Quote:

I am the one who decides what mod usage people get on the normal world, that's why we didn't have mods with ungodly amounts of diamond/gold. well, more than the regular players who had ungodly amounts.Quote:

MODS ARE SUBJECT TO THE SAME RULES ANDS PUNISHMENTS AS REGULAR PLAYERS! HOWEVER, IF I KNOW NOTHING OF THE PROBLEM AND YOU DON'T COMMUNICATE WITH ME, I CAN'T DO A DARN THING ABOUT IT<3
// end rant
By all means, PM me, Tweet me, or do something if this is an issue!!:devious:

That was going to happen anyway. I don't want to have access to it at all times- it saps out the fun. But you make it sound like we were doing bad? So far I've used my creative mode to build you a brewing tower, and a railway to Warlord's town, a nether transit system to your tundra, a public lodge in your tundra, a large portion of your house, and my own little treehouse. Blowing random caves to smithereens with TNT was just a little fun one day. Didn't hurt anyone.
Such as? There aren't a great deal of commands etc. for Moderators, let alone for other ranks.
*
Excuse me? :( The last time I broke a rule was on our last server, and I spent 5 minutes in jail because of it.
And theziminvader has NEVER broken a rule.
More freedom? That's why I tried to concentrate it to 5 rules. Don't grief, don't steal, don't hax, don't be inappropriate and listen to mods / memo.
I built half your house, and restored SpiderJew's items + an upgrade. And I give out cookies for good behaviour.
I can see the appeal of a "goodness" rank, though. Could also double up as a trustworthy meter.
Sure thing. We'll start up a thread, like Memo said.
About the whole "keeping mod powers down" etc...
The less powers we have, the less aptly we can deal with rule breaks. That griefer who hopped on the server and destroyed your chest of diamonds? Lost forever. We won't be able to replace anything.
That explosion which took out half your home? Good luck repairing it yourself. We won't be able to perform rollbacks.
That guy who keeps breaking your stuff, punching you, and won't leave you alone? Nothing we can do. We can't freeze or jail him anymore.
What's that? You were at a stronghold 5000 blocks away and just died? No TP for you. We don't have that either.
All I'm saying is, there are Moderators to do half the stuff Memodrix does, so he doesn't get bombarded with requests, and you don't all have to wait a few days for him to get online. If we abuse our powers (And I mean abuse them, not make a pretty home for ourselves. That's called splashing out a little) you tell Memodrix straight away, and it will be taken care of.
Basic moderating commands involve "Kick" and "ban". What's the use of kicking off someone who's breaking the rules, when he'll just come back online? And what if you accidentally break a rule? Would you prefer that we banned you? Because that's the only thing we could do.
I'm sorry if I seem mad, but I just feel you're all looking at us and going "THEY HAVE MORE POWER THAN US! THEY ARE INSTANTLY HORRIBLE PEOPLE. LET'S MAKE MEMODRIX STOP THEM." And that hurts.

Do you even know who the tiger in your avatar is? :p
I can't get on the server. :(
Ok, first off, my post was not to purposefully throw blame at the mods or anyone else. It was to suggest possible idea for our next world that could be modified in many ways before we put them in. After reading this post, which got me thinking about maybe how mods might feel, I'm thinking what we need is not a reduction of power, but just rather a change. Mods may seem to have a lot of power right now because they have creative, but that won't be in the next world. I feel that once Bukkit is installed, much of this will solve itself as long as there isn't an abuse of power. I wouldn't want this to become like some corporations where, as you say, the power is instantly evil.
I believe introducing the 5 simple rules is a good step towards more freedom. You though ahead of me there :), and you deserve a cookie. You also added little descriptions underneath the rules, which I feel should maybe be extended a bit.
Maybe what we need is not just one ranking system, but maybe as you suggested, two. There could be a possible normal ranking system, such as "Admin, mod, trusted, player"( <- Idea) AND a "goodness" system/ trustworthy meter.
Now, keeping mod powers down, once again, might not just be removing powers, but rather a shift in power that Bukkit will bring. I agree that the main purpose of mods are to help keep control when the admin isn't around, and Bukkit commands will help mods be able to do just that.
I hope this list will be a success and make our next world better. Once again, feel free to suggest ideas or complain :P about this.

Is anyone else having a problem while logging in? For me, the game stays on the Logging in screen whenever I try to join the server, and then eventually gives me a "Took too long to sign in" message. :(
I thought it was because my internet speed was so slow for the past 2 days, but now it's back up at 12 Megabits/second and it won't work. Must be something else?
I fix with magic button
*poof*
The server appears to be down? I thought you fixed it. :(
i did. and i just logged in again to check
also: voice yer....voice here on our server's rules! =>click me!<=
Why does that link take me to a level thread for Sackboy Jones?
.......what the eff, man!
i'll edit this and the other post when i figure out what happened....
this one should work!
I am still confused as to how that happened. the link ref looked right, but whatever. it was a laugh at least.
I thought I would just post this here:
I set up a temporary server the other day that has Bukkit installed. This will only be until Memo updates his server with Bukkit. It is relativity lag free and contains ample plugins and I am taking suggestions.
The IP is 192.168.1.6 and you can access an online map at 192.168.1.6:8123. PM me and I'll whitelist you!
It's actually 71.235.8.78 :p
Oh tan, you so silleh.
wow. i'm pulling the old world files, and uh, the world with all the temples and inns and the like....its...kinda.....massive.(edit: its ~900 megs of massive.)
the other ones shouldn't be too bad, but this is gonna be a pain to move back to the server.
