Attention Pokemon fans.

I'm gonna be honest. after getting a better look at them, I think the 2 main legendary Pokemon are pretty cool this time. *mew

I have not been much of a fan of the main legendary Pokemon for many gens now. To save time I'm not going to count the 3rd versions of the games. So yeah, The 2 B&W dragons were only ok to me. the 2 D&P dragons I didn't like whatsoever. The 2 R&S Beasts I also didn't care for. and well you get my point.but far as main legendary Pokemon that you see on the box-art, I think I only liked the Gen 2... well ok I only liked Silver's legendary. Also Gen1 don't count since Gen1 didn't have legendary Pokemon on the box art.

The DS is over half a decade old. I'm glad Game Freak is making X and Y for the 3DS. I like both Xerneas and Ylvetal so I guess I'll end up getting both games. I'll get Chespin on X and Froakie on Y. Fennekin can go jump in a river.

The appeal is it's not going to be Fire/Fighting when it's fully evolved. :meh:

I really don't get why almost everyone keeps hating on Froakie. I read something along the lines of this somewhere dealing with the trailer:

Fennekin may be Fire/Psychic
Chespin may be Grass/Dark
Froakie may be Water/Fighting

Somewhat similar to what they did in Gen IV, Each starter will have a bit of an advantage against what it's normally weak against.

And also, why do people hate the Fire/Fighting starters? Personally, Infernape, Blaizeken and Emboar are probably my favorite Fire starters.

I've always loved and chosen fire and water starters, but I like the water starters a lot more, even though I'll usually pick a Fire starter first, thus I'm going to pick Froakie, to try and change things up a little.

Fennekin is pretty cool looking, not sure about Chespin... I'll probably just get a friend to breed and give me a Fennekin egg.

The only thing that could possibly turn me away from this course of action is if Froakie's evolutions look totally Derpy, which has a low likelyhood, considering how Epic all of the other water starters have looked over so long a period of time. Just think how awesome their final evolutions are: Blastoise, Feraligatr, Swampert, Empoleon, and Samurott. Freaking Epic. I have high hopes for Froakie's final form.

My god, THERE'S TOO MANY POKEMON. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO REMEMBER 700?! I COULD BARELY REMEMBER 150.

Whatever, I don't have a 3DS and I stopped playing Pokemon at Heart Gold, which I barely played.

But I pretty much always got the grass type :3

1. Bulbasaur
2.Treeko
3. (Whatever the pearl grass type was)
4. Cyndiquil (cuz Typhlosion was a beast.)

And when I was done playing Pokemon I had 86 level 100's, including Groudon, Mewtwo, Kyogre, Rayquayza, Latias, Entei, Mew (yes i got it), And all those other legendaries. (darkrai etc.)

I never caught Zapdos, Articuno, or the fire bird. They were just so hard ._. (haha thats what she said)

I really hope Fennekin's Fire/Psychic. The last thing we need is another Fire/Fighting starter.

But I also hope they don't do the Fighting/Psychic/Dark type triangle either. It doesn't work.

What if every pokemon this generation is fire/fighting?

I did Bulbasaur then Cyndaquill and nothing after those. I was a bit burnt out on the series due to over exposure so I skipped the GBA series then skipped Nintendo handhelds.

I feel Fennekin should be Fire/Ground and Froakie should be Water/Poison but thats just based on the habitat/characteristics of their real life counterparts.

Of course it does.

Fighting beats Dark
Dark beats Psychic
Psychic beats Fighting

Fire/Psychic beats Grass and Fighting
Grass/Dark beats Water and Psychic
Water/Fighting beats Fire and Dark

It works.

It's wierd though, because before I found this out, I had the Idea for a starter triangle like that, at least one using those three alt. types

Right, but there's a little oversight to this triangle.
Psychic doesn't affect Dark, and Fighting is a physical type that does neutral damage to itself. This puts the triangle out of balance.

Now a type trio that could work is Flying, Fighting, and Rock.

Flying beats Fighting
Fighting beats Rock
Rock beats Flying

Rock's not very effective against Fighting
Fighting's not very effective against Flying
Flying's not very effective against Rock

And they all do neutral damage to their own type.

Also, they're all physical types, so they can be seen as the physical equivalent of Grass, Fire, and Water.

That actually works a lot better. Nice thinking!

Regardless, It would be nice to see Froakie be a Water/Fighting. The only one of those we have is Keldeo. An event Pokemon

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I forgot about Poliwrath! I feel terrible now...

The worst part is I used to have a Poliwrath... Back when I played Red/Blue

Nah it's ok, when there's gonna be more than 700 pokemon soon, it gets kinda hard to keep track of all of 'em.

And I love this gen's legendaries.
Xerneas and Ylvetal are based on the Norse mythology regarding Yggdrasil.

And people say Gamefreak's running out of ideas.
