I'm making a level for this contest with my friend. It will be published at her earth but she can't make an account here, can she still enter the contest if I post the link for her level here when it's finished?

I'm making a level for this contest with my friend. It will be published at her earth but she can't make an account here, can she still enter the contest if I post the link for her level here when it's finished?
Oh hi, Cakito! I haven't seen you in a while, nor did I know you were entering! Anyways, I've finaly decided on what story I'm'a go awith and I am slowly making progress. Can't wait till weekend and friday, this 9hour school and 9hour scleep is taking 18/24 hours of my creating time! Not to mention the boring stuff like eating, breathing, and bathroom-ing. Ugh. Tough life I* got. Anyways. Mine looks and plays great so far, you better hope for second or else this will most likely be a disappointment. Crown here I come!!!
I actually changed my mind. I'm returning to the contest, but my level won't be as good as the earlier one. The first time zone is too short as the second one is more likely emphasized. And when you mean no cross controller, does that mean materials like the holographic metal are banned?
I spent two hours in my room last night, planning out my level plot and the characters. Today, I spent at least two hours interpreting that into the game. So far, I've gotten about halfway through the first time zone, with the first part perfected. I plan to get more done tomorrow and Saturday, but maybe not Sunday because it's my birthday :)
Anyways, it's nice to see so much participation in this contest. Looks like I have worthy foes! Even if I don't win, I would have tried my hardest and that's the important thing. But that Crown...it's so shiny :royalty:
Happy b-day! And does anyone know how to destroy something say like a menu, when not using it I have the button to ready so it will. I just dio't want to put detroyers on everything.
Just a quick question-how far apart do the two time zones have to be? Can they be...say...ten seconds apart? And do you have to go to both time zones yourself?
Lol, it wouldn't be an LBPC contest without a pseudo-entry from someone...
No, if you check the rules again, you'll see that that we're only banning actual cross-controller levels, i.e. levels which would require both a PS3 and Vita to complete.
That's a toughie. It sounds as if you're pushing things a bit with the theme, which is time travel after all. BUT this is not meant to be a very prescriptive contest so if your idea involves playing with different times and someone or something travels between the two, go for it! :)
I have been going like crazy on this contest. Just for anyone interested, I have 4 weapons fully programmed, 7 enemy types fully programmed, the first stage complete, and player character and custom respawn points complete. I am going to be doing 4 stages total, with 9 enemy types per stage, and 1 boss per stage and 4 unlockable difficulty settings as well. It is just a lego building block game from here on out.
My new level takes place in the dungeons. The time travel part is a Tron based Platformer. When you use the time machine, you will go through this Tron-esque section, where you enter the future when you finish traveling through the Tron-esque section.
Man, i'm gonna be a huge competition for some people! I am just great at logic, the hint for my level? Well, i just hope that one of you likes either; Final fantasy, Chrono trigger, pokemon, and basically anything else pixelated with battling. I can already see the glory of the crown sitting on my head. But seriously, this will be a fun contest and goodluck to any other contest entrants!
-FATSO_THE_FROG :royalty:
Well Frog, I guarantee you that I will be your biggest threat in this competition. You may be great at Logic, but I've Mastered the Art of Logic on LBP2 and I'm applying some of them for this contest. Anywhere from highly Advanced and Flexible Damage/Health to Dynamic Camera, Upgrade System, Combo System, Grading System and many more unique stuff. And this is just a small project compare to other projects that's in the works. I hope everyone is bringing their A game cuz I expect a challenge.
I see another creator is making something that isn't a platformer, I look forward to playing that game.
Oh its on now
Ooh I love mine so far, first scene is done. now for some p-... gameplay.... hehe
EDIT:
Okay, say I already had a crown. and I had two different accounts. one for vita and one ps3. Could I have the crown if I won for my vita even if I already had one for my ps3? and if not, can it go to the person who helped create the level with me?
Someone that is better than me in logic? Impossible.... I can't wait to see yours. Im making turn based battling, with leveling up systems, and I also have a great story. The level name? "Chronoseption". Take that Doctor who, here comes Doctor frog to play...
Oh yeah?! Well I got a platforming section, a flying section, and several cutscenes crammed into my level!
Seriously though, my opponents are so intimidating. I'm skeered. Really skeered. :frightened:
I'm having to use the emit destroy technique, so now I'm starting to fall behind on my progress. Bleh. Just about the only things that are going really well for me at the moment is my research (yes, I'm using real scientific ideas from the uses of Helium-3 to the end of the universe), and the music, which me and a friend made together. Not doing as well as I'd hoped, mainly because my limited time weakens my ability to concentrate. But I still hope to win, of course. A man can dream...
Let me just say that you all better be scared. I have, like, the greatest idea ever in my levels. It's like, so awesome, that like, you're going to throw your Vita across the room because it is just so awesome. It's the best idea I've ever had, and it's, like, so amazing, and, like, your heads are going to explode.
I can't trash talk.
What a nice contest. :) I hope I can create a good level for this contest :)
hello to all the talented creators entering this contest that's feeling very confident in there level. Glad to see your excitement, but i'm thinking the trash talking and bragging is very unworthy crown talk, haa. But i'm glad to see that there will be some fresh new levels at that end of the month . keep on creating with your awesomeness. is that a word? hahaa.
i love this contest, i worked on my level all weekend. I'm getting a little scared of my thermometer. i have half of my level left to go. i wish i had a time machine so i can go back to the first week i wasted. haa
okay im done babbling , needed to vent . tonight will be another long night . cant wait till this is over , i could go for some solid good sleep. :)
Ironically Frog, the name of my game is called "Chrono Shift", yes, I'm a fan of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, which is where I got the name from. I know it's hard to believe that someone is better than you at Logic, but I believe you have just met him. Keep in mind that is merely a small piece of my Logic expertise for this project. Best of luck to you and everyone else.
Glad to see so much creator enthusiasm :royalty:
Just remember that winning a crown takes more than a mastery of logic or a great idea - it takes the execution of a complete gameplay experience, the right logic for that idea plus all the little personal touches that make a fabulous and original level.
True, which is why my game features new, never before seen gameplay in a very familiar genre. Nice Visuals that is interactive with main gameplay mechanics. A cool dynamic camera logic that no one has used before. The whole idea of manipulating time phases to take advantage of certain situations and also creates unique ways of approaching bosses and enemies. Added an RPG element by creating items that can be collected during the course of the game to increase your stats. A combo system to lure in hardcore gamers who loves aiming for the high scores. This is just the tip of the Iceberg.
@LoVeRiCe:
Lets see what you can come up with. Usually persons like you pull back in the last moment after hyping their levels incredibly. Sorry but I cant really believe your great your level buidling skills, otherwise you would be a more known creator.
How could you talk about logic noone used before, if you havent played all levels. The trick isnt to make complex logic for a simple task. The trick is to make simple logic for a complex task.
Lets see what your level looks like, if you finished it and wearing the crown.
--TheBa2ti--
Trust me, my level will be cool. But I doubt it will win. This is gonna be fun. So far I've basically only completed the battling logic. And it's pretty cool. Today i'm trying to get my character sprites done and the level icon done. When it's finished, I hope that some people enjoy the level. Unless it's too laggy, in which I am afraid of.
Edit:
Sadly, the reason why I am not a well known creator, is because I never get inspired to build an epic level. But this contest is making me put all of my skills into it. And hopefully, it's gonna be awesome. I haven't even started the level, only the battling. And that is alot of work to do.:)
@Ba2ti, see, here's where you're wrong about me. I may not be known as an MM PICK creator, even though I do have an MM PICK pin, earned legitimately. Why I'm considered still unknown and under-rated is because I don't normally work on my own moon, I spend most my talents helping my friends with their MM PICKED levels. Thus why you'll see my name in tons of MM PICKED game's credits, because I put my work into them. As for the Complex logic thing.... My logic looks very simple, takes little to no thermo at all, yet does very complex, variest and flexible things. So yeah, I've done the "Trick".
For example, I'm sure you know of Comphermc, supposedly a Grand Master at Logic among other things. Well, what if I tell you that his logicwork is over exaggerated, greatly. I can decrease the size of his "Health/Damage" logic by 75%, not only does it can do Exactly what his does, but it's Flexible, while his is static, all the while, saving tons more thermo. Don't look at the things published on my moon and think to yourself, "Oh, LoVeRiCe doesn't even have anything decent, yet talks big." The thing is, all my cool stuff hasn't been published yet... You'll see my games on the MM PICKED list soon.
Well, I couldn't be doing this without someone else, my brother. He is the art designer, as I am terrible at pixel art. I'm the logic creator. Without him, my character would look like a mutated monkey.
@LoVeRiCe
You say that on my profile, i'm not offended at all, The last thing i have published using logic was months/years ago. I am probably in the top 90% by now. And I tell you this, the levels I have published now aren't even close to what I can do now. I don't publish half my things. Just saying, im not offended by what you said.
Nevermind that, I just think that my new level will tear the rest of my levels in half. Goodluck to you and everyone else.
Choices... tsk tsk
I would actually like to meet Comphermc. Maybe do some online play would do the trick.
Anyway, I'm almost out of the dungeons. I placed a time machine there, but there is a time tunnel in between the past and future. I'm getting better at making platforming elements (like the grab 'n' ride ceilings, inner wheel, popping out bounce pads etc), and I'm using some in my level.
Eh, let's forget that whole thing. We're both smart. I think you're level will be cool. Cant wait to see it, and I hope you try my level. I might play everyones level! (PS3) and goodluck to everyone.
I met him once.... But I was kicked like a few seconds after joining. Never got a word in. (At that time i never knew him)
I feel kinda bad saying that to LoVeRiCe, although I don't think I was rude... I guess that's just me.
Meh... There's no need for bragging guys, it's what you'll publish that counts. Nothing else! I'm looking forward to all the entries!
-- Regards, Jauw
Yeah, I agree with you there, Jauw. In my opinion, you'll win. But it won't stop me from trying.
Me? Well I already have the crown. So the crown will be handed over to the runner-up (**information missing**)
I'm finished with the dungeons of the 15th century, but I still have a lot to go. I need to come up with a good name for that space tower, I haven't worked on the time tunnel, and I need to come up with good details in the description.
Pseudo-entry!? I think you're describing everyone else's.
I did have an idea for an adventure game-ish level, but juggling two levels and school doesn't work out well for me (thanks motivation issues!). Since it'd require both a Vita and a PS3 (not cross control!) it wouldn't qualify anyway, so whatevs.
Maybe I'm a bit naive here, but there's probably more emphasis on logic than there needs to be. Sure, logic's important, but your levels can't fall back on that if everything else sucks. Good design, fun, and originality should come first. I rather play a fun level with average logic than a tedious level with great logic. Most people don't use LBP primarily for "programming" (no that's what actual programming is for), so there's no need to go around bragging to others how great you are and how everyone else's logic is inferior. That goes against the spirit of the competition. Is a crown really worth that much?
But that's all irrelevant because I'm clearly going to win. But you're welcome to attempt.

I totally agree with you bonner, Gameplay, Fun Factor and Replayability always comes first when creating a game. Which is why I haven't abandon that aspect, only to enhance them with deeper Gameplay by means of better logic knowledge. I have Visuals that are nice, but I keep them to a minimal as to not lag the game and I will have hundreds of stuff onscreen at any given time, but thanks to the small yet complex logic I've created, the game can handle that stress. As for Replayability, the reason for the Unique Gameplay Mechanics, RPG elements and Combo System I've integrated to encourage people to play again to experience, play a different style and maybe try to topple the leaderboards. So logic knowledge does help too.
I designed a clock to represent time traveling. It's going to be in the time tunnel section in my level.

It's 1 o'clock!
I hate to say this, but you guys are making me feel less confident about my creation. Even though I have a fun level with some comedy aspects, good visuals, and epic music, I don't know if it will be enough. Hopefully you guys will like it :p
Anyways, just updating about my progress so far. I have nearly completed the first time zone (it's in 2189, by the way.) I have picked out my music, I have designed the time machine, I have worked out the cameras, I have made the time travel sequence, I have thought about my description, I have done some of the speech...need I go on? I'm just waiting for inspiration for the 2013 time zone...where should it be? A cave? A recreation of an original LittleBigPlanet level? Maybe I should make it so you assassinate yourself playing the level in real time, that would be cool. I honestly have no idea yet.
That crown...it will serve as my motivation to make an award-winning level and VANQUISH EVIL! :royalty:
