I've been monitoring every thread that has come up on this issue. I've come to the conclusion that what we did was right, but we didn't explain it at all. We were at the other extreme during the Superphillip incident, where we argued with every little challenging post. I think we will be going to be more moderate about it next time. We'll make sure to explain why we do what we do, but we won't be giving any more feedback than that unless we need to clarify on something. :)Quote:

As the new moderator guy, I could see some of the discussions that were going on among the staff. It's a good thing though that we have different opinions and ideas on issues like this, but it is a little bit of a shame that you can't see everything that's going on.
I agree with Code that we went from everything in the open to keeping things relatively quiet for these changes. It's a difficult balance to make. If we are too open everyone questions everything, if we are too quiet we sound like a dictatorship that does not listen.
What I'm basically trying to say is that we can and were listening to everything, both good and bad input, from all sorts of sources from PMs and Visitors messages to the Spam Can to the Feedback forum and Site News... and all the way back again. Even if we are keeping quietish, there are voices within the staff that try and express different views (and frustrations) that they hear about the place.
Hopefully we are getting more towards a good balance level. But remember that the staff are relatively friendly and helpful as much as they can be. :)
ok so i just thought i'd post what i think about the changes.
1. post count: i disagree with this because i think that it was cool to see how many posts you have. i don't see any negative so we might as well keep it. thats just my opinion though:)
2. coloured names: The reason i liked coloured names was most/ alot of the regular users have them so i found it easier to pick people's names out at the who's online thing. again this is just my opinion so don't flame me or something if yours is different.
3. reputation: glad it's back:)
4. feature bundles: No difference then trophies so who cares. i did like the trophy icon you got more but no big deal
also on a related note while i disliked the changes the attitude of certain moderators (not all of them) was rude / disrespectful, which was worse then the changes themselves in my opinion
