weird visions of two sacks firing an assortment of cars, hammers and deathballs at each other, but I can see the more sensible applications. PvP plasma guns anyone?

I think a flashlight would be cool for dark levels. You can grab a flashlight power-up just like the paint-gun. and aim it with the R stick. You can put a switch on objects. So when you aim your flashlight at the object the switch enables, on/off, direction, one-shot, and speed. I think that would be cool!

My vote has to go with the Grappling Hook. It would definitely open up many more game possibilities as well as provide many more directions for both the level designer and the players to go...
Grappling hook naturally. I'd like to see a different type of grappling hook to a yo-yo though, one that you can't retract. So when it hits the wall/ceiling, the distance you are to it is the length of the rope and you can swing and such but the length stays the same. Probably one shot only.
The ability to retract your grappling hook might make it very over powered and difficult for creators to contain the player, especially with the ability to disengage it at speed and fling themselves to places you don't want them to get to.
i have figured out on how Mm could make it possible to hold a paintinator and a jet pack. Just make the jet pack attached to the paintinator and have the paintinator have more of a turret feel shotting faster and or being automatic. When you hit circle you will lose boh the jet pack and he paintinator because it is one item

There are allready ways to emulate this. By simply emitting a thin invisible darkmatter floor over electricity or whatever hazard.

There is allready ways to make peopel jump higher or emulating low gravity. A gravity manipulation tool were you can see the gravity strenght and center would be more usefull: But i bet there would be extremly many simmulair " low gravity bomb survivla levels " or so. Because if making good levels is to easy. We will have anotehr trend.
look at the bomb survivals. Unless you are a total noob you can make a top class bomb survivla within a few hours at most. The original bomb survivla level ( whatever that was) Was propably a great level. But it was to easy to make.
Adding stuff like low gravity or ninja rope would open up more gameplay possibilitys. But it would be to easy to make decent levels and we would be stuck with even more tedius lbp trends. Why do you think " jump 20 jumps challenge " and " when the bomb fell" and " a level that plays it self " and " the amazing roller coaster " and " the motorcross race " kind of level have been so populair ... Because they are decently fun and enjoyable for casual players,, WHILE they are very easy to make.
It allmost doesent even require and logic skill with switches. Players will often be happy with the plain material even without any sticker work. And despite how many of theese trend levels there are people simply wont get tired of it.
Thats why the paintator was so great. None of the current tread even has anything to do witht he paintator in some weird way. It is simply to hard to make for instance bosses with the paintator that would suit casial players, and thatīs why they are not as common.
I bet we will get tired of all " water survival levels " within 2 months after it is realesed unless the water is to hard to use. MM Should make things possibel. Not easy. Once the water is out someone will get a great idea that is unfortunately easy to copy,,,,, Just like the bomb survival levels,,,, And yet another tedius trend.
first we will have jetboats race trends. Then we will have weat bomb survival trends. Then we will get " swim trough 20 holes " trends. All the trends atm will be able to use the water and it will become terribly tediuos..
The more harder somethign is to make. The better.
The more powerful it is, the less options you have to include it in puzzles.
This was defintly the case for G-mod as well, loads of people upload their exceptionally basic contraptions and complain that people don't love them.
I was thinking, for the grappling hook... it could come with a material called "Hook Material" you can only hook onto that material.
This would stop players from hooking onto the walls and getying in places they're not suppose to be...
I like the yo-yo and magnetic boots, but the other ones just seem a little too much like periodic god modes that allow you a little too many ways to get outta things cheaply. Thats my opinion, but other than that, these are some seriously good ideas for Mm to take into consideration!
I like the idea of being able to grapple friends for teamwork/revenge purposes; why not just treat it like a long-range grab, that can attach to anything you can grab? I also feel that it should be fixed-length once fired, to avoid the aforementioned overpoweredness.
As to the hazard-proofing upgrades like rubber boots, I agree that these can already be emulated easily enough without upgrades. And as for low-grav boots, I think that setting gravity as an environmental condition, like lighting and fog, would be more useful. Lastly, if gravity is an environmental condition with an adjustable direction, you wouldn't need magnetic boots either.
In short, I'm all for the grappling hook/yoyo, the torch, the splitscreen, the handheld emitter and my own guitar suggestion (naturally :) ), and am open to convincing over the pyschic helm, but generally think that the others could be achieved in better ways.

i recently got the water pack from lbp and i have to say its really nice.
but my idea came when playing an final fantasy 7 level where you had to fight a boss ad the end.
the boss fights in this game are fun but easy.
so i came up with a diffrent 'life' tool for sackboy , its the same as the items some bosses contain so that you have to use the paint gun to destroy it.
i was thinking of giving sackboy a tool called Bossbattle armor.
you can think of it as a glove witch displays a life bar underneath the character or in a corner.
this would also provide for matches like king of the hill so the game is also able to have a 2 vs 2 gameplay.
then i had an idea for the hand tools we get for example Cole's lightning sphere.
i bought these recently and i think they could make em more fun .
so why not make em like a paintgun ecept this one schoots lightning spheres when you move the analog that way?

for the red on i rather had a destruction or schielding idea.
still working on that , this could provide the bosses with a health bar displayed ad the top witch you can depleat that way this would provide is with more harder boss battles ofcourse once sacks meters gone he respans from the respawn point and such can still stay in it.
(note im not trying to transform the game just ad some nice stuff)
sinds i bought the water pack you get the dive tool with it wel i was thinking of making the armor that way to and like that you can get more sorts of weapons and tools
also i think we schould get real sackboy characters instead of paper pictures to display text.
i was thinking how you could easily make em do something then i thought of this:
a bar has 3 spaces [x][][] , then press square and say "people1" moves 1 square ahead> [][x][] continue+1 >flip
then he will walk that path and interact with text ones you get close
so what do you think of these idea's?
I think an Invincibility powerup would be nice, Like Mario's Starman. It'd be good if it was tweakable so you could change what could/couldnt kill you (fire/electricity/plasma/gas/spikes/drowning) Also, It would not protect you against getting squashed, as that'd break the level (like Mario still dies when he has a star and falls in a hole)
I like the Handheld Emitter glove idea, and the grappling hook idea, they're awesome

wow. I am no the only one with magnetic boots and a grapple gun in mind :D
What about a space kit with the magnetic boots and the option of a vacuum tool to limit the air in that area similar to the water with no scuba gear

That would be a brilliant pack! It could contain all sorts of different types of paintinators (hopefully, the RYNO 5 :D).
What I would like to see is a "multiple powerup" powerup. The name really says what it is, it just allows you to have more than one powerup at a time, eg paintinator and jetpack at the same time.
I like all the Boot Power-ups, the others seem a bit too much.
Some other good Power-ups would be Hazmat Suits giving you the ability to resist horrible gases and Electro Sappers which are single use Power-ups with the ability to stun Protected Creature Brains for several seconds then it dies off. They can be placed by approaching the object with the Protected Creature Brain and then pressing and holding R1, then let the Sapper do the work!

How about boots that were tweakable? This way, we could combine the magnetic boots idea and the parkour shoes idea, and the metal boots idea into one (hopefully) simpler tool!
The Jacket could be good and also there should be a gas mask that you can use in levels so you can walk through gas!
also professor coat so you can know some hints in the level.. Cool ideas more more more!!!
