You seem knowledgeable on this. I may have missed it, but is there a video somewhere of a reoriented top-down sackboy walking? I wouldn't mind seeing how this looks as far as raw animations go when "walking on walls". Or, perhaps I'd just need to add a feet shuffle animation when speed is above 1, or something. I think I could work with it either way.
Another thing I wish they'd do that I havent heard yet is change the direction of "up" for physics reasons. The reason I mention this is that things like fire, they float north rather than "up" if you do top down. I'm sure I have a video example of this...

It looks okay, but can be a bit annoying. Especially if they add "3d cameras", viewing from anything other than direct top-down will start to become very noticeable. I wish we could shift gravity so that particles would animate in a preferred way. Either way though, I'm happy with the new tools and improvements of what I've seen so far.
(And for the walking animation, I could always animate larger things to move like I did here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdkEoZM76ag "created" animation doesn't seem to be too offputting. The only problem is with created creatures and animations is that you can only do true top-down. angled cameras would ruin the illusion. So very happy for the new sack-bodies, if all works well I can actually make beasts and what-not with oddsock and some of the others without having to actually "make" them. I'd much prefer that.)
