A versus level where half of the players are humans and the other part is aliens that can crawl on the ceeling.
I'd like to hear more about this. I assume it's a level where they hunt each other down? What kind of game would it be? :gopher:
It would probably take place in a dark space space station. One team are aliens and the other team are humans. The aliens are stronger than the humans, however the humans can get power ups. If someone would like to build this kind of level I suggest this:
1: mark the ceiling with a tag called ceiling
Make the alien character turn 90 degrees with a gyro when it collides with this tag. Also make it face the other way when climing the other way.
2: Give the humans a different weapones power-ups that can be destroyed by the aliens
3: create a flashlight power-up so you can spot the aliens in the dark. If you use this, the aliens will be able to spot you.
4: Make it so that the aliens needs to grab the humans to kill it.
5: To give the humans a little more chance of surviving I suggest that the alien, without the alien-players command, gives off a sound every now and then so that the huan players can track them down more easily.
6: The most inportant part. Make the aliens bigger than the humans.

I was actually planning on doing that as a spin-off from my 2100 horror series. It would take place on a map (probably a ship or a space station) with many paths, crossing each other, and also some secret ways. There would also be vents through which the Aliens could go.
At the beginning you would be able to choose if you want to be a human or an alien. After all players have chosen, the game would start. You would be able to spawn as 1 of 3 Humans / Aliens.
Human: (They all have a light and generally have more health than the Aliens)
1) S.I.O. Soldier - Average armor, semi-auto plasma gun, nothing else. You could spawn as him immediately after death.
2) S.I.O. Elite - Strong armor, laser-assault rifle, maybe melee combat. You would have to wait some time before spawning as him.
3) S.I.O. Commander - Strong armor, shotgun / machine gun, has a A.I. soldier who fights with you. You would have to wait the longest till you could spawn as him.
Alien: (They are also encountered throughout the story. There are player-controlled ones, while some A.I. ones will spawn randomly)
(yes they have Latin names.. though i don't know if they are correct.. Latin grammar is terrifying..)
1) Parum Venator - weak armor, very fast, melee attack, nothing else. You could spawn as them immediately after death.
2) Acid Sputorum - moderate armor, normal speed, ranged acid-attacks + melee. Takes some time before spawning.
3) Composition - 3x moderate armor, slow-ish, melee attack, splits into a smaller one after running out of health for 3 times. The smaller they are, the faster they are. Also, each time you split, you spawn small, very weak A.I. Aliens that swarm around the humans.
I'm not sure what the goal would be, but i was thinking they would have to destroy 3-5 eggs placed randomly on the map before they hatch. If one of them hatches, the aliens win. If the humans destroy each egg, the humans would win.
