LittleBigPlanet 3 Beta: NDA Lifted

Hi Everyone

Just a quick message to say that we have officially lifted the NDA for the LittleBigPlanet 3 Beta.

What this means is that the LittleBigPlanet 3 beta testers are now free to talk openly about their LittleBigPlanet 3 Beta experience, the brand new tool set and even upload some cool YouTube videos for everyone to check out.

A big thank you to everyone that reported any beta leaks previously, we truly appreciate your help with this and think you all deserve a well-earned rest.

Anyway! Enough talking from me!
I'm sure our friends from the beta will have some cool things they want to share with you now.

I assume that the pms you sent to the second wave of beta testers didn't say anything about keeping it secret, hence why everyone was posting they were in and the mods were allowing it?

Now I wait for Create Mode videos to go live on Youtube... :P

Idk, I got in on the second wave and still had to agree to the NDA. Although it was only one day of NDA.

That explains why I can't get into the Beta forums...no reason to do so. This is good news (though I can't help feeling a little less special. ;))

Is the beta on PS4?

(Just wondering since it has the inbuilt streaming functionality, looking forward to watching some :3)

Also, do the mods think we can get a LBP3 "help" forum now? I don't want to clog up other forums with gameplay/how to questions.

Yes. Beta codes get you access to both versions.

But 1 question. Where do we report bugs now?

I wanna see how the people who are more familiar with the game create stuff. I'm completely lost with all these new tools. You can do literally anything and it's scaaaaaary.

I've been mooching the beta off of my brother, which doesn't help 'cause that means I get even less time to try to figure things out!

That was hard to keep to the NDA. Even though I haven't yet been able to download the beta and it was for one day.

Awesome I was able to put out 2 levels, but I still have a lot that I need to learn. I was very honored to be a part of this, although I feel like I didn't have a chance to do much to help.

As soon as I find out about getting into the beta, and then I hear this, I'm honored to be a part of this!

If streams are okay, I might have to get a capture card to stream my creations.

It was a bit intimidating at first, but then you get used to the new things and it feels a lot more comfy after a week or so :D Then your imagination goes wild... in a good way :P

The official forums aren't working for me though. Keeps saying access denied and doesn't let me try again. :/

It does this when I click on forums.

Ok something great just happen a couple minutes after I got off went to my gmail and found a message that said I was invited to the beta!!!!!! WHAAAAAAAT!!!!

Aaaaaaaargh, the NDA finally drops, so I rush to the game press thread to debunk all the nonsense, but it's been locked! :p

Anyway, I don't know where they got their information, but in the beta client you still create your level in create mode, not in play mode. You can do a lot of create stuff with the popit powerup, but these changes aren't saved.

Awesome news! No more secrets!!! :D

I have my dephysicaliser chip! It's called a physics tweaker. You can also adjust weights.

It doesn't save much thermo after all ... lol (but it does save some)

Combining animations is pretty interesting too. I found that combining 'being blown by the wind' and 'fast walk' creates a nice 'tip-toeing' animation. You need to fiddle with the animation speeds to get it just right. I'm messing about with the broadcasting chip at the moment and it's great. It would be handy to see the logic working on the chip itself though. Currently the logic looks 'dead' and it's only by looking at what you are broadcasting to can you see it's working.

There's also an opacity tweaker that allows you to make things invisible and then magically reappear. It has a fade option and a Dim lights option (I'm still not quite sure what that does).

There are also 'sub' layers just like in LBPVita. These range from -10 to +10.

Who? ...The selection was done by Steven with suggestions from several fan sites.

Just played a community level online. I was confused as to why it didn't ask me if I wanted to yay it when I finished it, but then I found out that the option had been moved to the pause menu??
