That level is definitely top-down. You see how the sackperson's head is tweaked to the side during gameplay? That only happens with top-down in LBP3, not with the normal 16 layer gameplay.
You might be right. It's hard to tell from the boxish geography, but I do remember those wall jumps were very awkward, so that makes me think he had to custom build them because it was top down.
DLC ownership is tied to your PSN account. In LBPK your save data contains which items you've unlocked/collected (progress), game data contains your creations (levels, costumes, captured objects). I'm pretty sure that's the same in LBP1/2/3. Your profile backups contain both your save data and game data, except on LBPK which has no backup.:grr:
