Two weeks ago, a little gang of Molecules attended the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco. Here they would give various talks, hang out with Tim Schafer, eat some giant burgers, and win several shiny prestigious awards (yay!).
Straight after one of their talks, Aleks Krotoski of the Guardian Games Blog managed to grab 20 odd minutes with Mark and Alex, to discuss the lessons they feel they’ve learned from creating LittleBigPlanet, and what they hope to achieve in the future.
This might be slightly old news, but the view count on the Youtube page tells me not many of you have seen it!You should give it a shot, it contains some good nuggets, such as Mark revealing he comes from Ipswich, and how unhappy he is with wobble bolts. Ok, Ok there’s more than that, see for yourself!

VERY interesting. The one thing that excites me the most is the linking idea! This could overthrow the "Cool Levels" page in a second when communities like this one release their spotlighted levels as a linked-together-bunch and the creators around here stick together and link to the other creators and so on.

Can someone list the meat they talk about? You know, a resume?
.Currently studying level design!
My best LBP1 levels: (from oldest to newest)
- Ultra Beginners and Girlfriends
- Crazy Train! (hard/normal)(better in LBP1)
- Sack's On The Beach
- A Bark In the Dark (hard and normal)
- Space Sack's Adventures: The Blue Planet (LBP1 only)
- Death Swamp (hard)(LBP1 only)

They talk about the successes and failures of the game. Things they wanted to put in but couldn't as well as what they are proud of.
One of the features they took out was an entire sea-based level section with its own creator curator. They said it was "unbalanced".

#4:30 First Vid:
"And then there are the thing's that people are excited about, like, I dunno, water, or the paintinator..."
Hmmmm...Suspicious...
EDIT: It gets more suspicious when he says things like "How do we balance? That's going to be a really big challenge for us."
EDIT2: #8:16 second vid...
He even says the word "fluidly"
COINCIDENCE?! I think not!Last edited by dawesbr; 04-07-2009 at 09:18 PM.

LOL I do think Killian's was just first, but I never make threads nowadays so left it

I absolutely love watching and listening to these guys (especially Alex Evans) when they talk about lbp. The passion he has for the game is inspiring. I really can't wait to see what they bring us in patches/updates over the next year
Hey Jaeyden, your good at eventing things. Make me a time machine so we can travel into the future and see what they bring us. As I can't wait

I would not get too excited about details they might hint (such as fluids) cause this is going directly into flame-fanboy-hell. Ther is no point in speculating. What he makes pretty clear, is the problem of bringing new stuff versus fixing the things that need fixing with a small team like Mm is and I hope that those people complaining about how "broken" LBP is saw this and see, that Mm does not forget about it but merely has the problem to statisfy two contrary needs.
