With my rayman level out of the way i've decided to put one of my older ideas into action
The idea is that you're in LittleBigCity and it's become overcrowded with rubbish
so your job is to explore the city and clean up as much of it as you can.
Basically it's like a huge easter egg hunt only with a different context.
And it might even encourage kids to do a little cleaning up too xD
-----
This could work in 2 ways:
1)
The city is split into sections, and to advance to a new section you have to collect a certain amount of rubbish.
Some of the rubbish is also colour coded, and collecting every item of that colour in a certain area will open a special colour coded gate, giving you access to more difficult challenges or simply alternate routes.
2)
You are given freedom to explore an entire city with no boundaries. This time the level is purely non-linear, you can wander off in any direction and take split paths to find as much rubbish as you can.
At the end of the level you are rewarded for the amount of rubbish found (for example for every 10 items found your reward is increased).
The coloured items could also be integrated into this, giving access to hidden challenges with bonus rewards - but they would be completly optional and wouldn't affect the players ability to get through the main areas

I've made a quick demo of the 1st idea, although i kind of prefer the 2nd

The concept is ok, but there is no gameplay from what I can see. Are you going ti have any enemies? Any obstacles to get over?

of course
there'll be plenty of platforming and the usual stuff, a few obstacles like crushers and spikes, and maybe a few enemies if i can think of any interesting onesLast edited by Dexiro; 05-19-2009 at 06:44 PM.

sounds like fun
Treasure hunts are always cool, though they're normally geared more towards pirates, not trash lol

Maybe each piece of rubbish you find lets you play the corresponding level-style.... Maybe, for instance, a quick "bomb survival challenge" or a quick "ramp" area (REALLY small so it seems comical).

lol @ Tyler
Sounds interesting and unique. I like the number 2 idea personally, but that's just because I have a thing for open-world levels and games alike.

personally i think that your 1st idea was the best. as long as the gameplay is up to the standard of the idea this could be a good level
