There have been a large number of individuals bumping their level showcase threads for no discernible reason. This thread will act as a guide as to when you can and cannot post consecutively in your showcase threads. The following are acceptable situations for double posting:The most effective way to maximize feedback is to avail of the F4F (Feedback For Feedback) feature, whereby you can give feedback on the levels of other members in return for some on your own. For more information about F4F, click here.
- When you have made substantial changes to your level. Examples include numerous bug fixes and new sections.
- When you have uploaded media to your thread such as videos and screenshots.
- When you have added a sequel to your level and have opted to keep it in a single thread rather than posting a new one.
- When you have reached the character limit. This will rarely happen.
The following are unacceptable reasons for double posting:
- You feel you have not received enough feedback.
- You wish for some additional plays/hearts.
I suggest you also take a look at ConfusedCartman's thread on How to Maximize Level Feedback.
Finally, if you have any queries regarding the issue, ask in this thread or PM a member of the moderating staff.

Yep, all very true situtations. I have recently seen people bumping their threads for no reason at all despite them having a lot of feedbck. Nice one Killian.
What are the sites views on deleting your last post and replacing it with a similar style post but with something different added in?

It won't happen again. I've seen these guidelines now (was it always here?) and I promise to not bump ever again, unless stated acceptable.
I'm sorry.
My levels (best-worst): Sack processing Facility (part 1 of 3), Hungrysaur's Territory
I have a lot more levels not worth mentioning.

Nice addition Killian,
although I can sometimes understand people bumping their threads since some of them do get overlooked at busy hours
wich makes them rapidly disappear to the bottom of the page with zero replies.
That's the same principle isn't it?
It does the exact same thing, bumping the old thread.
Except off course, if it follows the acceptable situations...I think

Well, since it seems many people still don't know, i'll just post it in here.
People and staff members (mods/ admins), i can only use the PS3 browser to go online, so to make a really long post sometimes i have to multy-post since the PS3's textbox has a rather short character limit.
In such cases i writte "(out of space)" when almost out of space, or i abreviate it as "(oos)" when i barely have any space left.
There's nothing i can do about it.
I know its annoying, it annoys me as well, but as i said, i can't help it...

I've been guilty of this a few times, but I'll not do it again.

so to be clear; bumping is not allowed at all?

If it's pointless.
My understanding is that, in theory, you're supposed to do F4F to get replies on your level. so if you do F4F on someone elses level, they will be entitled to do the same for yours. Thus, you'd contributed to their level, and they will give you feedback- also effectively bumping.
But yeah, simply saying bump because you feel you don't have enough feedback is not permitted- instead participate in F4F- at least that's how I figure it.
This statement is true.

Wich is better?
I just got downratd for "bumping threads". The threads I commented on were about two weeks old, I think. but it makes no differancce to my question;
If I have somthing to say on a topic, but the thread about that topic is an old one, should I start a new thread, rather than using an old one?

Honestly, it depends on the specific situation. For example, if there's a thread on page 2 or 3 of the Forum Games section about posting funny .gif images, you should definitely post in that thread instead of making a new "funny .gif" thread. However, if that same thread hasn't been posted in for a month or more, a new thread would make sense.

Thanks!

"You feel you have not received enough feedback."
What if you have zero feedback and your topic has fallen off of the front page?
