Chat Box

I think this forum needs a chatbox. It'd be a great way for members to get to know eachother. At another forum I go to, it's used quite a bit and it would be especially nice here since there's really no "Off-Topic" forum.

It's been suggested a million times. The Spam Can was, in essence, a chat box- well, same principle.

CC and his mods have decided that a Chat Box would be too hard to moderate, and they will never support a method of communicating besides the forum, and, well... It's not happening. It's been suggested a million times, and I can't see CC's resolve being changed by this, so, um, yeah... a mod will probably be here to lock this shortly :O.

... You'd be surprised what people would become when they have no rules, when their heart of darkness is unleashed. We are all wild animals, confined by "rules"... if a method such as this would occur, it is entirely possible that the atmosphere we've had here would break...

... anyway, philosophy aside, you'd need a REALLY big arguement to get CC to even consider it... by which I mean holding his family hostage or something... and even THAT may not work :O

As RockSauron said, it has been suggested many times before and simply won't be happening. We would need at least two new moderators to cover it over a 24 hour period and it would be too easy for someone to come on and post inappropriate content unnoticed.

If you want to chat to people on the site you can get their IM from from them and do it elsewhere.

The point of all of this is that anything affiliated with the site needs to be moderated, so the site and it's affiliations don't become tarnished by abusive users. This is my assumption how how it works anyway.

... echnically speaking, we DID have a chat box once... on LittleBigCreation, a sister site we once had dedicated to ideas or something like that... But yeah, um... Anyway, Killian, did you forget or do it on purpose? O_o
