I can't stop listening to it. It's distracting me from my writing. Help.
And before you say it... I much prefer this version over Radiohead's version."It's better to be a has-been that a never was."

I've been listening to Wax Fang a lot lately, mostly their "The Astronaut" and "La La Land" albums. Here's a great song to get started
I suggest listening to their full albums as a whole. Available on Spotify

Something to do? Check. It's important and you have to do it within a time limit? Check. Power-boost music? Check.
Bring it on.

Theatre of Pain
Blind Guardian
This is one of my many all time favorite soundtracks which exist. I find the lyrics amazing and the song itself has a special melody. Not to mention, the song definitely has a deep meaning. However, it's based on the fantasy novel "The Merman's Children" by Poul Anderson. I should read it. xD
The german power metal band is Blind Guardian and it's been around since 1984. The song "Theatre of Pain" is from their 4th studio album "Somewhere Far Beyond". Album was released 30th June 1992.

Lyrics
The giant's lost
And all round him
Destructed for what?
They all knew what it meant
But they couldn't change it
Lord, they had gone too far
Leave them alone
It's all gone
What is left behind
On a desert we called Earth
When the last whale went away
Did they ever see the tears?
Don't fear your last step
From the Theatre of Pain
And the children will love your singing
From the sea
The sea is calling
Now we've to leave it
The sea was clear
On the day I was stranded
Answers I'd known
To keep this all alive
But I can't change it
Forever
(Solo)
Now I'm gone
And it seems that life had never existed
So we left the dark and cold
All I left behind are my tears
Don't fear your last step
From the Theatre of Pain
And the children will love your singing
From the sea
The sea is calling
I hear them calling

Here's slightly different version with more classical instruments.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
And here's the orchestrated version of the song. It's from a compilation album "The Forgotten Tales" which was released April 16th 1996.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
Here's the demo version! From "An Extraordinary Tale", which has live rarities & demos from the band. The lyrics are different in this one.
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
And, final but not least, 8-Bit version of Theatre of Pain! Created by Helveteskrigeren on YouTube.
I just love this song so much in different versions.

I hope you enjoyed listening and reading! (And yes, I'm listening to these songs right now.)
See ya!Last edited by TenebrisNemo; 03-02-2016 at 08:07 AM.
