Reminds me of that Arnold Schwarzenegger movie, The 6th Day. If you haven't seen it, it's not imperative that you do, but it's got some good Arnie stuff going on.
Anyways, you've written a real nice hook. At first I was worried that it was going to be just teenage angst [in written form], but I liked the sci-fi twist. Are you endeavoring to write a short story? Novel?
