I was talking with Alex about this at the expo and he explained it to me.
The only reason why the profile limit was set like that in the first place is because Sony have a clause that any game that is produced has to be able to shut down in under 10 seconds. This means they had 7 seconds to save information. Our profile limit right now is that set figure of whatever the ps3 can save in 7 seconds.
Now the new way they do it relies on the user specifically saving it to a different location. Its a really clever way to get around it I think and will totally add to the game.

Finally, I haven't tried making a level in the normal game for ages because it always corrupts or something.

So this probably means you can, as rumored, save your levels on the HDD as a seperate file. (export).
Otherwise I don't see how this whole thing can fly. In fact it's not profile space that will get bigger (because the game would not quit in 7 seconds anymore), you will have more space in the mean you can export more things.
Anyhow, I'm looking forward for this idea to give us Online Create and Water.
