This is a quick tutorial on how to UV map in 3DS Max.
-----
First, create a cube with 6 sides.
-----
Assign your material to the first material slot.
-----
Assign this material to your cube.
Convert the object to a editable polygon.
Select all sides in face mode.
Apply a Unwrap UVW Modifier.
-----
Reselect all 6 sides and press edit.
-----
click on mapping - flatten mapping and press ok.
-----
Use the scale move and rotate tools inside the new interface to put the green boxes onto the right parts of the image.
-----
And there we go
-----
Hope you found this usefull!

What if I'm drawing in 4 dimensions, how do I UV-map a Hyper-cube?
Seriously though, geeky references aside, cool tutorial :P

if you understand uv-mapping, would you be so kind to uv mapping this:

Besides the pun, I once had to uv map a giant mountain for spellborn/khaeon that took me two months to totally map without any texture seams. (size: 1024000/1024000 something and over 100k polygons)
it was horroficly horrofic.

I learned everything myself, from the 3dsmax read-me and some random online tutorials.
I even learned the teachers at the game and animation college some new stuff
