    Default Slash & Friends

Slash & Friends is the first upcoming solo album by former Guns N' Roses and current Velvet Revolver guitarist, Slash. The album is to be produced by Eric Valentine (Smash Mouth, The All-American Rejects, Good Charlotte, Queens Of The Stone Age) and features former Jane's Addiction bassist Chris Chaney and former Nine Inch Nails and Guns N' Roses drummer Josh Freese. It is also to feature several guest vocalists including Meat Loaf, Alice Cooper, Chris Cornell, Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas, Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge, Kid Rock, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and formerly of Nirvana.

The album features four of the five original members of Guns N' Roses: Slash, Izzy Stradlin, Steven Adler and Duff McKagan. Singer Axl Rose is the only original Guns N' Roses member absent from the Slash & Friends line-up.

Anyone else looking forward to this album!?! I've listened to the single 'Sahara' that was released in Japan a while ago. Although the vocals are all in Japanese, I really like it It's B side (Slash feat. Fergie and Cypress Hill - Paradise City) is, to be honest, as a GN'R fan, terrible.

Seriously, I always thought Slash was one of the best guitarist ever and this CD... Let's point something out here: his behavior. He did this because he's darn good and because it's like a little gift he wanted to share to all his fans. I can't wait to buy this jewel. I'll listen to it before buying it though. It'll be awesome! Thanks for sharing

It's a nice way of giving Axl Rose the hypothetical finger.....

"Hey! Ya likin' G-N-R, ya JERK!? Well, I got the band together along with the biggest names in hard rock and you are NOT invited! Fire THAT from the band, HUH!?"

I love Axl just as much as Slash.

Plus Axl didn't fire the band, they left one by one (apart from Steven Adler, but everyone kicked him out ).

    Updated the first post...

Slash performed a song called "By The Sword" off his upcoming self-titled solo album at a benefit concert this past Sunday (November 22) at the Avalon in Hollywood, California. The show, billed as "Slash & Friends", was a fundraiser for the Los Angeles Youth Network (LAYN) is a non-profit organization providing services to homeless and runaway youth.

Fan-filmed video footage of the "By The Sword" performance can be viewed here: Video 1, Video 2

The musicians featured in the video are as follows:

    # Travis Barker (Blink-182) - Drums
    # Chris Chaney (Jane's Addiction) - Bass
    # Slash (Velvet Revolver, Guns N' Roses) - Guitar
    # Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction) - Guitar
    # Andrew Stockdale (Wolfmother) - Vocals

Also appearing at the show were Ozzy Osbourne, Chester Bennington (Linkin Park) and Billy Idol, among others.

    Shh!

Slash's fan site doesn't get updated as frequently as UG.
