Hey guys I'm new around here. Just had my level crash on me. My profile I guess is OK as I can play story levels, downloaded levels, and my other create levels.
I just have one level that will not load. I was creating, then I saved and went to play mode and the thing crashed on me. Now the level will not load, about 4 days worth a work on this level gone!!!!!!!![]()

Ouch, sorry to hear that! I have had that happen to me a bunch of times already, but I have not yet found a way to recover a specific level that has become unloadable. I hate to tell you this but your level is probably toast.Hey guys I'm new around here. Just had my level crash on me. The only real work-around is preventative: Make regular backup copies of your My Moon levels as you work on them. Every 30 minutes or so, sometimes less, I will exit my whatever level I'm working on and make a copy of it. Add "v1" or something to the end of the level name so you know which copies are old and which are new. I keep a set of three backup copies that I rotate through, always overwriting the oldest. So, I'll have the original version that is my work-in-progress, v1, v2, and v3 - when it comes time to make a backup of v4, I overwrite v1. When I backup v5, I overwrite v2, and so on. I have had to revert to old level backups 5 or 6 times so far. It's a minor inconvenience but this way you will never lose more than 30 minutes of your hard work.
During this save/backup process, it's also a good idea to playtest frequently. I playtest my entire level every time I make a backup just to make sure nothing at the beginning of the level has broken since I last saved it. By the time I publish a level I have probably played it close to 100 times. Seriously. It can get boring but it's a great way to iron out bugs.Last edited by Taffey; 01-04-2010 at 07:46 PM.

I started backing up I am using media go to transfer my saves to and from.
I hope they get these bugs ironed out as I really really enjoy the game, blows my mind how good it is on PSP. Your levels are great I have given you 5 stars and a heart really well done. I am just starting to get the hang of it, been doing a lot of testing in a blank level I just don't want to publish a crap level.
Thanks for the reply.

Hey guys!
I have a corrupted file.... -.-
I have a backup from yesterday. (So i think its not that bad).
BUT is there a way to not loose the stuff i made after the backup. (Some hours of work on my new level)
I just tell what happened:
I played many different levels in a short time (i searched for "pinball" on the community moon and wanted to know how many copies of the sackball level there are).
So i often started a level, saw that its a sackball clone again and exited right away. I think i wasnt really aware of the risk.
Anyway my save is corrupted now and i cannot even enter mymoon without the grey box appearing. (so i cant delete the levels i want to keep to identify them in my backup file)
Any tipps?
Is it right that i can copy my backup file to my psp and will then have my levels back? (ok without the changes after the backup but i will have the rest?)
I just had a closer look into my backup and thought of the different filenames and what they contain. Maybe it would be helpful to have a list of that. I just start with what i can think of now (XX stand for Numbers):
COBJXX: Community Object
MYOBXX: My Object
MYCSTXX: My Creations???
BCXX: ???
BSXX: ???
Edit: Ok i made a test restore now (i have a copy of the corrupted save). Everything works and i have my levels. But i realized how much i created yesterday evening... any chance to get that back?
Edit #2: Ha! i am officially a genius! After several tries and much messing around with different backup files i got the idea to sort the files in my corrupted savedata by date/time. Then i looked for the files from yesterday and copied it into my backup data. (and i of course left out the corrupted files from this morning)
My work from yesterday is back again and i did not lose anything. (In fact i spent the time to redo what i would have left now to solve it by recovering the files
)
Maybe this report will be useful for anyone. (otherwise i could delete it, cause i helped myself
)
Edit #3. Funny thing: You all are sleeping or working right now and i write this post and am kind of talking to myself...
Stupid time difference.

Hey Arrestor - sorry to hear your profile exploded!
We should be able to recover all your My Moon levels, and possibly your costumes and objects if we get lucky.
I just woke up, which I guess means it's about 6pm your time - I think. I haven't had my coffee just yet so my brain isn't fully switched on.
Awesome! Ok, glad you figured it out. Yay!! Sorting by time/date was a good idea, and you're lucky because you had a backup that contained the right information. That should be a lesson to everyone out there - see how useful it is to have a backup of your data?Ha! i am officially a genius! After several tries and much messing around with different backup files i got the idea to sort the files in my corrupted savedata by date/time. Then i looked for the files from yesterday and copied it into my backup data. (and i of course left out the corrupted files from this morning)

Just for fun, here's an alternate method. If you had an older backup without those files, here's how you'd do it:
Copy every file that has a two-digit name that starts with a '7' from your current state backup. Where "xxx" is the file extension, copy everything that looks like: 72.xxx, 73.xxx, 7A.xxx, 7B.xxx, etc. Each of your My Moon levels has 4 files associated with it, each with the same file name but different extension. Put more simply, instead of looking for the specific files you need just grab everything with a '7' and follow the steps in my original post.
Thanks for posting all the details of your corruption problem - hopefully we'll be able to help someone else who has had the same issue you did.
I may start experimenting with this eventually. You're probably right about COBJXX and MYOBXX, but I think MYCSTXX might be costumes.I just had a closer look into my backup and thought of the different filenames and what they contain. Maybe it would be helpful to have a list of that. I just start with what i can think of now (XX stand for Numbers):
COBJXX: Community Object
