What did you all think of the two-parter The End of Time?
(Upon searching I could not find a specific thread of Doctor Who)
Also what did you think of the 30second scene of Matt Smith?![]()

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant.

I thought it was pretty good, this two parter and the Waters of Mars were the best few of episodes in a long time. The last good episode was the one with The Master when he was prime minister. The series with Katherine Tate in was rubbish I thought.
I'm sad to see David Tennant leave, he was a very, very good doctor. As for this new guy, I guess I'll grow to like him.

Was a good end overall, the deus ex machina solution to the master situation was atleast a bit more plausible then usual and the scene with the gun had a resolution you could see coming a mile off. Could probably have done without the pre regeneration tour.
Up next.

I really hope geronimo isn't going to be one of his catchphrases.

Me too, it is extremely cheesy, it was a true facepalm moment.

He fired a weapon we didn't see what at in the trailer and 3 regularly used hand to had combat to dispatch foes from the clips i've seen so it's not like an incarnation of the doctor has never punched anyone before.

Indeed. There's so many more interesting aliens and ideas they can come up with. I find Daleks rather boring now.
Still, at least the Weeping Angels are going to be in it.

Massive massive Doctor Who fan, so much so that it's hard not for me to enjoy it no matter what.
However, it wasn't a particularly great episode. Rather messy and no real point to the plot. The TimeLords were wasted, pretty much brought back just for the 'epic ending' and 'wow' factor. Seems like Russell T Davies didn't really know what to do with them.
From a plot point of view, it was very weak, but considering the importance and what the whole episode was about (Tennant leaving) it kind of worked.
The last 10 minutes were incredibly self indulged but I kind of liked it at the same time.
It was a very 'Russell T Davies ending'. Glad to see him go to be honest. Can't wait to see Stephen Moffat's stories. Going to be the best series so far easily. No matter what Matt Smith is like, it will be hard to fail with Moffat in control!

i can't believe David Tennant is dead

Oh no, they've brought the scariest monsters back... Crumbs.
The Tardis looks a bit Odd, Have you heard there are going to be new rooms? A lab, a sitting room and stuff, I think thats rather cheesy
what i want to know is why this regeneration was so violent? Was it because of his grief? or was it because he had grown used to this body.
and another thing! I thought Time lords could absorb radiation without too much damage... he did it in the Judoon episode
and i didnt like this new doctor if you look
Here then you can see that most of the doctors had similar faces, but David Tennants its Rather different to Matt SmithsLast edited by KernelM; 01-05-2010 at 08:56 AM.

I'm assuming the regeneration was violent either because it had been held in or because of the absorbed radiation although it was definitly an excuse for a set redesign.
Radiation also caused the 3rd doctors regeneration so I'm assuming the xray radiation in Smith and Jones is the only type thats relativly safe for them.
