Attack of the BORG! "Part 1: The Discovery" by AJnKnox
You are Ensign Logan on board the Science vessel - USS Discovery. You awaken in Sickbay to find the ship under red-alert. You must find out whats going on and fix it fast! **Like the rest of my levels they are BEST with 1 player**
This is a redo of my 1st level. I decided it should be re-done so it fits with the rest of the series.
**All 4 Parts have been Spotlighted!!**

This is an excellent level. I didn't take the time yet do to the other levels in the series but I will, soon. This is such a great start, I hope the rest holds up. I don't know why I never noticed your series man, it's right up there with the best series i've played like Chroma Stone.
It made me also think about Jwwphotos' Space Escape. Yup, it's that good buddy.

Currently studying level design!
My best LBP1 levels: (from oldest to newest)
- Ultra Beginners and Girlfriends
- Crazy Train! (hard/normal)(better in LBP1)
- Sack's On The Beach
- A Bark In the Dark (hard and normal)

- Death Swamp (hard)(LBP1 only)

Thanks!
Thank you for your kind words! I'm am very glad you enjoyed it! I think Part 2 is the trickiest as far as platforming is concerned but I believe it is true to the rest of the series.
I am beginning to prepare for Part 5 which I hope to be a BOSS level with the BORG Queen! (With Morgana25's help if she can find some free time
Thank you again!

I checked this out the other night and I'm really glad you decided to revisit this one. The original had good stuff but it did feel out of place given where you took the rest of the series. I much prefer this version as it's platforming is much more sophisticated and solid. Great use of the VR Material and the lighting is great. I found a few of the secret buttons but you've squirreled them away pretty good this time around. I'll need to try again to keep my rep as a Trekkie!
5 stars & hearted - glad to see ya back in the swing of things too - it's been too long! Oh and yea, Borg queen.... You let me know and I'll MAKE time for it!

I played it a couple of days ago now, and thought it was great. Re-designing it definetly brought it into line with the others. The great puzzles and platforming that the rest of the series possesses has passed onto this one. The use of materials and lighting, were as always, excellent.
I'm gonna restart the series now, playing this one again to get the full feel before the Borg Queen
Great level.

Welcome Back....
Mr. Kot-Ter!
(ok) You were missed. So, there was nothing wrong with the first version of this level, and what do you go and do? Just put it on even par with likes of all the rest of your spotlighted levels...
I don't know how you do it? You take what most people would call a box!?! ...And breath such life into... I mean it's not supposed to be a "beautiful" level, but there is just moment after moment of very pleasing sci-fi beauty!
Now I had some layer jumping foils in the begining this go around, but I must say... your layout and design are really top-notch... i'd think you and Korndawwg would make very complimentary partners!!! (little mechanisms which always change the level in some slight way to make the next section obtainable...)
So different from me... the player understands the sections in your level, intuitively, there are obtainable goals... 'A' follows 'B' there is challenge and merit and reward. I envy that methodical approach, it is one of your strong suites... and the platforming is very very good. Nice work!.................................................. ...................
"The world strode slowly upon my heart measuring precisely each fractal footfall with shiftless negligence. I lay in its' wake scathe-sighted, the Gravel of Man, pandering pan in hand prospecting paradise, and you... talk of my immortal soul?"
With A Name Like GRAVEL... you can count on a rash!

Awww Shucks! Your the Artist! If I created something you find pleasing then I have a job done well! I do love my Boxes! Just played this Part...so here is my Feedback^^
I liked the Level, also i´m no big StarTrek Fan...The Visuals are quite cool, also there is nothing really special...
I really liked the Usage of Light in your Level& the style fits the futuristic Star Trek Theme.
The Gameplay is cool too...the Bonus switches are hidden good and i did not find them all...
One Section was really kind of frustrating to me...that one where u have to push these Things behind that Glass...using a JetPack...
First of all i did not really know what to do there. And also i found i difficult to see that u can get behind this glass...especially with the Jet Pack lying in front of there...
AND it was really not easy pushing those Things in the right position with this **** glass floor
...this passage i really did not like...
Other Stuff in the Level is cool...
I soon will try the other Parts
I could use some Feedback and Plays on my F4F Lev: "Odysseey for a Treasure - Chapter 1: Monkey Bay" (sse Sig)

I thought this was the coolest thing ever!!! had no idea it was even possible (its hysterical and quick) once you've done it once or twice though it is so cake!
Anyway just another part I loved and failed to mention above................................................... ...................

This section I almost removed due to the absolute simplistic design and ease of completion...
1st let me say that you don't really go "behind" anything there. Due to the grab-able surface it allows you to fly 1 layer back into a "cut out" piece of glass so you can move the block.
I watched a friend play this section and was surprised when he kept trying to pull the block the wrong way. (There are very visible arrows showing which way to move it)
Yes I will agree you have to move around a little bit while holding R1 to grab the block...but once you do it moves pretty easy...and if it doesn't then you can hold X and you will fly faster and for sure be able to move the block.
I am sorry you found this frustrating...if that was the area that you didn't like then I would call this level a success as that is such a small part of the level.
Thanks for playing and commenting!
Thanks also to Gravel for his comments on this section as well

Ahhh, well ok...I now tried it again & it worked much easier

My Mistake was that i allways dropped the JetPack to Push the Blocks...and then it´s really hard ^^
Did not realize I can get that Layer behind with JetPack on ^^...
Well had to figure out that...but it was really not clear at once for me ...but now I like this Part more ^^
Keep up ^^F4F-Lev: Odysseey for a Treasure - Chapter 1: Monkey Bay

Well your situation and my friends before is exactly why I left this section in. It does cause some people to wonder at first how to do what they know they need to doAhhh, well ok...I now tried it again & it worked much easier

I added another double checkpoint in the Jeffries Tube section as this also seems to be giving trouble to people.
I don't like infinite lives checkpoints (don't ask me I don't know why!)
It currently has

and almost 600 plays last I checked but only around 120 have completed it
Thanks everyone for having a go...now just leave some feedback and I'll return the favor!

4 levels spotlighted, nice!
And just when I wanted to post a small review lol
Last year i finally took the time to watch all star trek episodes, ive seen em in my childhood sporadically but you could never accuse me of being a trekkie.
But watching all star trek and the next generation episodes.. I kinda got in the whole "Star trek rocks!" therefore also rented all the movies watched most of them with awe and the Borg are probably the coolest think ive seen in space.
That said, I began your level and was suck right in.
Though not recognizing who the green fallah was, he was surely from star trek and therefore a friend of mine.
The scenery overal game a decent to good star trek feel!
I like how you hid the scorebubbles, but I found that some where in the gas (at the biomixer) and not obtainable, thought I might have donethat myself....
The biomixer was a nice touch btw!
Ooh! an elevator, hey nice cutscene-ish effect, with all of your elevators btw! nice job!
I also liked the rockets on the platforms, they just gave a nice touch to the overal scenery.
Ooh.. the jeffreys tube!! that just looked very solid!
your music was just right at all the places, and to top it off..
I also liked your secret dispencer, i got only one though..
But when I got more time, I am sure to play the rest of your levels!

and a big fat heart!
now,
Somewhere today me and TheAdipose will be releasing "In pursuit of the meddling magpie" and we would love it if you took a look at it and tell us what you think in the thread we will create for it! (it doesnt have to be a full fledged review though!)
cheers!

I played this the other day... I really enjoyed your other Borg levels, but I always felt the first one was a bit lacking... problem solved! I totally enjoyed every minute of this... and, in fact, had more fun in here than all the other ones. From the first area with the great mechanics to pick up extra point bubbles, through the huge room with the spinning platforms I felt this level had the best platforming of any of the levels in the series.
5 stars and a heart! Fantastic stuff, and its great to see you back.F4F Participant

I am very glad you liked it and also glad you feel my skills are improving! I am hard at work on Part 5 and I must simply say I think it blows the doors off my other levels!
But you all will be the true judge of that upon completion! Thanks again!
