Cakes have always been the topping of festivities from traditional birthday celebrations to grand wedding ceremonies, serving as a symbol of achievement for new graduates or a bragging trophy for business conglomerates. It's no wonder then that Sony Cambridge chose different types of cakes to name their updates, with the first major one endearingly titled Strawberry Cheesecake Update 2.03.
For this challenge, we ask you to design a cake to celebrate the kickoff of LBPCentral's [PSP] Community Contests forum! We tell you what to create, and you show us what you can do! Will it tower with conventional elegance, or teeter with a modern edgy design? Will your cake levitate off the ground with rockets, or perhaps walk in a parade of cupcakes? How about candy cars blasting off from ramps made of icing, or confetti lava bursting atop a volcano chocolate cake? Put on your baker's hat, turn those ovens on, and put those creative ideas in a mixing bowl to whip up a cake worthy of celebration!
Here are some creative cake ideas to get your dough rollin':

The Cookbook
- You may use any material or sticker, including those from DLC.
- For this round, you may NOT use story objects.
- You may corner-edit materials.
- It absolutely must resemble a cake of some sort, and it must look edible. If it doesn't please my rumbling tummy, then away to the garbage it goes!
- You may experiment with various shapes and sizes and extend the cake vertically and/or horizontally, but the entire cake must be viewable. However, this does NOT mean that the entire cake must fit on one screen. Every corner of the cake must be visible through camera angles, platforming elements, and/or jetpacks!
- Placement of a scoreboard is recommended, but not necessary.
- You can submit as many cakes as you can produce, but only one entry will win.
- Participants cannot win twice in a row, but winners of the previous round may submit entries for fun.
- Judges may participate in the contest but are ineligible to claim the prize.
- Participating levels must be posted on this thread by the deadline (see below). It is also recommended that complete levels be presented in the PSP Level Showcase.
- If you're not sure what to name your level, call it 'LBPC Cake Contest'. Otherwise the title is up to you!
- By posting your cake on this bread, I mean thread, you agree to the official contest disclaimer stated below.
The Chopping Block
The deadline for this contest is 26 March 2010 at 11:59 PM GMT. Late cakes will be left to spoil.
The Goodies
The contest winner will receive his or her choice of the following:
- One FREE premium LBP DLC pack of the winner's choosing.* (This prize option is for NA (US and Canda) region games only. At this time we do not have the ability to send out EU or Asia region codes.)
-- OR --
- One FREE month of LBPCentral donor status. No ads! Custom title! Bonus forum features! Juicy green dot next to your name! Did I mention, NO ADS?
Had enough? Well too bad, because there's more. The winner of this contest will be crowned the new Iron Chef and will be given the option to be a judge for Round 2 of the next "You Want Me to Make WHAT??" contest.
* Premium LBP PSP DLC is defined as any of the available "level" or "theme" packs currently available for download, including The Gardens Level Pack, The Savannah Level Pack, The Wedding Level Pack, The Canyons Level Pack, The Canyons Level Pack, The Sack That Time Forgot Level Pack, or the Lurve Level Pack. Any additional DLC of equivalent or lesser value that is made available before the end of the contest may also be chosen as a prize option.

Nutrition Facts
By participating in this contest, you agree that you understand that the judges will make their decisions objectively, fairly, and in an unbiased manner. You also agree that there is no place for whining in an excellent contest such as this one, and any belly-aching or other distasteful behavior will result in public mockery and being pelted with soggy apricots. Finally, by participating you agree that the point of this whole thing, win or lose, is simply to have fun and enjoy yourself. This is, afterall, a video game.

When you say that the entire cake must be viewable - do you mean you have to be able to get it all on screen in one shot?

Hey salieri,
That's a great question! And the answer is NO! Hehe. You just have to be able to see all corners of the cake by either camera angles or simply just jumping or walking past it. Does this make sense? I'll clarify the rules in a little bit. Thanks for asking!
Waiting to see what you cook up,

Although I'm not much of a cake fanatic (pies ftw!!!) I think I just figured out what I could do to make a needlessly complex cake.
Unrelated, can the level have the cake be in separate parts, and it's Sackboy's job to put the cake together (think BurgerTime) ?

Hey Gilgamesh,
That sounds really cool! Of course you can have it in parts! That sounds like an interesting idea. Can't wait to see what you come up with...
Hey Fastbro,
Ahh! Absolutely. I didn't think of this, but this is a really brilliant idea. Thanks for coming up with this Fastbro!

Although I probably won't enter I do have a suggestion:
Ask people to name their levels with YWMTMW01 (You Want Me To Make What 01) or something, like the Contraption Challenge's CC01
