Hey everybody. Every PSP-users of LittleBigPlanet.
Try out my new level:
The Basic Colour Race

It's not the most detailed level I've made, but it contains some nice, fast gameplay. It's short, but it takes time beating the record!

So, your alexweile from Gamespot! Wow, it can get so confusing trying to keep track of all the different names of the same users on the different forums
It's great to have you on LBPC!

Yes, you can't change your name on gamespot. I made the user long before I bought a PS3 and got a PSN. It's pretty hard to figure who's who with all the different names.

Thanks so much for leaving feedback on my level
Sorry it took me this long to give you some for your first level, but here I am finally :-)
Okey Dokey, I am just going to tell you what I see as I play, so you get a general idea. If you don't like this format for feedback, let me know and I will try to use it less :-D
At the very start of the level there is a very fun looking character, but the radius of his speech bubble is so small that you can't see what he is saying unless you jump and press triangle. Just increase that radius a bit and it will be good to go :-)
There's a red button that you use to spin a large blue light blue bar. The button needs to be glued down.
Really, except for that there are no problems. I have played a bunch of levels like this one (timed races) and I love this style of level. I still have not seen one that is decorated well, and this level falls short in that category as well. These levels are so short, so if you would just put maybe an hour into decorating it, it could do WONDERS for helping your level to stand out amongst the crowd since NO ONE seems to decorate.
I had a blast playing it though! I loved how you had score bubbles on certain paths.
One last point is that there is a sponge with an invisible grab switch on it that lowers you down by a winch through a small poisonous gas channel. I think it would be better if that switch was visible because I just let go of the sponge the first time and died since I didn't realize that it was supposed to do anything when I grabbed it.
Awesome work on a great first level :-) I managed to take 2nd place! Woo-hoo!

Hi everybody and really thanks for feedback!
@AFP: Thanks for the long detailed describtion. It's great. I can see some of your points, and I'm going to edit the level and republish it.
The thing with decorating my levels. It's a good idea, and I also this for my levels. I just wanted to try out this idea of a very basic race level.
@Lilman1101: Hey thanks. What's your name on Gamespot? And I've accually been on LBPC longer than you. So it should rather be me saying welcome to you.
anyway thanks.

It has just been republished. I had corrected some few things, and I've made it to a survival level. You only have one life. Reward at Ace.
NB: Is it really true that you lose all the plays and hearts for the level, when you republish the level?? I've losed all the plays and hearts for the level..Last edited by ghik16; 03-23-2010 at 09:26 PM.

Hi ghik! I'm not going to give a lot of feedback, seeing that this level is... short. So bare with me here, okay?

I love the concept of the level. It's really decorated in a colorful way, and the fact that this is totally different from other racing levels (curse you Mirror's Edge!) makes it more fun to play. It was both difficult and fun! I had no problems the first time, but I didn't place first... until I played it again! WOOT!
Overall, it was short and sweet.

and a ♥ for both the level and Creator. I hope to see more from you and your talents.
Peace

Sadly, yes. Probably my least favorite thing about LBP PSP, but as long as you catch errors and republish quickly (as you have) it won't have much effect in the long run.
I'm pretty sure I remember you from GameFAQs... It's been a long time since I've been there though (uh, a year I think).
Okie dokie, I played your level and had a good time with it. The title is perfect: It's basic, it's colorful, and it's a race. What more can be said about it? It's quick, straightforward, and has a decent variety of challenges - I like your addition of multiple paths for trying to get the top score. Nice update to make it a 1-life challenge as well. It's sadly pretty short, so there isn't a whole lot more I can say about it... I'd suggest adding more score bubbles here and there, and arrange them so that it's a bit tricky to get a good combo - that will add a lot of replay value. There also seems to be a good amount of blank space between the different challenges and platforming bits, so try filling those in with simple platforming like blocks to jump over, things to push around, or stuff to swing from. The character at the very beginning of the level is... well colorful (and maybe a little scary) but still amusing - try putting some more stuff like that around. Use some shading stickers to add some dimension or maybe some crazy colorful mosaics here and there for added visual interest.
This level is worth playing, so I gave it 3 stars. It's great to have you on LBPC and I'd love to see some more of your stuff.
