    Default My Computer Broke

I'm not sure if this is the right thread to place this if not then please can a mod move it.

Basically, i woke up this morning after leaving my laptop on on my desk rendering a file in Adobe After Effects, so i went to get it pulled the screen up and it was on hibernate so i went to press the on button to turn it back off of hibernate, and i think i pressed it too long and the computer turned off. So i turned it back on let it boot up but when it went to my desktop my custom theme was gone and there was nothing on my desktop, it was as if factory settings had been reset, howeve i still had all my programs but i didnt have any of my documents or files.

After furthur investigation, well going into computer C: users i found that another user had popped up called "Joe.Joe - PC", my normal user however is just "Joe" so i figured out that it had booted me into that user instead of the other original one, i tryed restarting but that didnt work. I started looking round the new file to find that it was created the minute i turned my computer on after i turned it off by accident. Luckily if i went into Joe in the users file all my data was still here and i had a sigh of realief cause all my GCSE work and coursework was on my.

Currently i can't think of any soloution to fix this problem so i am copying all my files from my original user onto this user. As a quick fix. If anyof you have anyidea on how to fix this your help would be muchly appreciated.

I don't know how you could fix this but if you haven't already, back up all your important files onto a memory stick, especially if it has GCSE work on it D:.

I, for one, welcome our new sheep overlords.

yep back up your files and then do factory settings also installing a new operating system would probably work to so i dont know what you are on but it might be time to upgrade in a situation like this. if this isn't a good enough excuse i dont know what is.
