personally I loathe the new daleks, tardis and doctor. As david said on 'you have been watching' he looks like a handsome bloke who's been smashed repetedly in the face with a shovel. The new daleks have cool colours but the eyestalks look like salt shakers mixed together with the lens thats more bizarre than a this. Also the tardis seems to have thrown up the 20th century inside itself.

I like the new doctor, he nails "mad" a little better than tennant, (even though tennant did an awesome job too) he's pretty cool in some ways.
I hate the new tardis, i prefer the old rustic one, especially this exterior which is bulkier and too plasticy...

The daleks are still upturned dustbins with egg whisks and toilet plungers, no matter what the paintjob is.

I've just saw a review of the new episode on IGN. They gave it a 5/10.
    http://uk.tv.ign.com/articles/108/1084474p1.html
I know it was a bit flimsy but at least it was cool and action-packed. Oh well, at least they say they look forward to the next two-parter, The Weeping Angels! Aaahhhh!

the weeping angels are, without a doubt, the most clever and scary doctor who monsters ever. scarier than the daleks and their fat future selves could ever be.

Personally, I reckon the cracks are intergalactic mono brows from outer space.

I agree with the weeping angels trip, but I think that the scariest monster ever (though it wasn't technically a monster) was the Empty Child.

no, it is. it's mad because it made an amazing level to enter into a contest and just exterminated it.

Did anyone else think that the rainbow-effect daleks were anything but intimidating?

I'm also mildly annoyed that in the last two episodes whats-her-face (Fitty McGee, you know who I mean) has been the one to save the day, because the doctor gets it wrong. The first time round, I thought it was kinda cool, but it's gonna get really irritating if they make this a regular thing.

Never noticed it, but now that you mention it, I'm quite mad! Pull yourself together, Doctor! Don't let the beautiful ginger girl save the day again?

haha yes I agree about the Power Ranger Daleks!!

Fitty McGee certainly is erm, fit? but yeah anyway, I can see what you mean. Although I don't think that she saved the day as such in the Dalek one (I know without her it would have all gone boom but bear with me)...

It's not uncommon for the companion to be able to connect with people better than the Doctor. There's a running theme that the Doctor needs a companion with him to keep him grounded and keep him 'human'. It's that human aspect that saved the day this time, which isn't something that's new to Doctor Who really.

But yeah, obviously it would become tiresome if it kept happening. I think it's more a direct ploy to establish Amy (I mean Fitty McGee) as an important character though.

It wasn't a great episode if I'm honest. It was alright, around the same quality that we got from RTD's time. But I am expecting more from Moffat.

lol Graham Norton. He's on every show these days!

I loved this episode. Such a smart concept. The Doctor and the crew couldn't take their eyes off the angels and I couldn't take my eyes off the TV!
Part 2 looks epic. The cracks will finally be explained, something I thought wouldn't be explained till the end of the series. Again, I can't wait for the next episode!

Personally, i don't find the Empty Child scary at all. Well, apart from the bit where the Doctor person in the hospital throws up another face. Most scary monster was probably the water monsters. I found them quite freakeh.
