The options are there, but my mind is blank...

I am going to make a level. Hmmm... As if you have not heard that before. But this level I will make I will make for a purpose. The level I will make will be the birthday gift to my girlfriend. And my level shall be a darn good one too.
The level will be a lovestory (where I will create two characters resembling us), and a sackboy who follows the story and helps. Maybe the sackboy will be a 3rd person viewer who decides to help them, while not showing himself, or he will be some sort of pet or friend.

My problem now is that I have no idea about the style of the level. I have figured different ideas for visuals, but I can't decide which. Therefore I am turning to you, oh great community of LBPCentral to help me! Let me list my different ideas I have come up with:

IDEAS!!!!

Number 1:
This idea is set in a dark future city, where the upper class is strictly ruling over the normal people, which lives in sheds of metal and etc. living in the waste of the "nobles" wealth. The couple has stolen some food, they need it to feed their families, but they have been trapped by two guard robots. The robots take the girl and the boy to show an example, and they will bring them to a prison where she will never see the sun again...
You as the sackboy must save them, and so the adventure begins...

Number 2:
Next idea is set in a middle age with lots of magic and such, with elements from Shadow of the Colossus. The story is within a village, which rests under the gigantic tower of Kreyos, which is inhabited by monks, practicing magic and their own religion. They protect the town against different dangers, but are very strict against the villagers and do not tolerate anyone going against them. What they longed for was mostly just food, clothes
and other objects they might need.
There is a couple also in this story, and a child, which is the sackboy. Out of nowhere, they request for a couple endulged in love and their first child to follow them. They say couple and their child will devote their life for a grand occasion. The couple is the boy, the girl and the sackboy in this story. They are all abruptly taken away, and even though they try to fight, they can do nothing against magical laser beams... As they are ascending the tower, sackboy gets free, and now he has to save his parents. something awakes in him, and magic crackles inside him. He wakes up magic powerful enough to save them.

Number 3:
The couple is sitting by a lake. They are having a picnic in a park, in the middle of a city. They cherish each other's presence and their environment. Suddenly, the whole world goes black for a moment. The light fades out. While the light is weak, the couple watches in horror as humanoid creatures rises from the lake. They come towards them, grabs them and drags he and she into the water. You, as a sackboy watches everything at a distance and decides that you should help the unlucky couple. A boy and a girl is not anything against creatures which seems to come from somewhere that is not his own world, and cross over to another.
Sackboy jumps into the lake, and chases the creatures for a little. They reach some sort of portal in the water, and they are all dragged down. The sackboy also manages to follow them. On the other side, everything is flipped upside down. The gravity goes downwards. and the buildings are built upside down. The floor is the roof, and the roof is the floor. This world is in another dimension, totally else than ours. Sackboy will help the the couple escape, but make everything seem as they are the luckiest couple in the world. Sackboy must use all his might, battling all sorts of weird things and solve fiendish puzzles. In a Twisted Town...




Those are the ideas I have thought out. I had an idea involving Bioshock and a barrelful of Rapture, but since my girlfriend has not played the game, I discarded the idea.

If you truly want opinions, I do like your second concept. However, I have your idea of the male having the action in all of your concepts. It's a little..uhmm.. sexist if you will. Try to make a woman as a character with the action, just a thought.

Yeah, as a gift to your girlfriend, wouldn't she rather play as herself? Wouldn't be hard to do, just switch 'he' and 'she' in your stories. Strong heroines are also sexy.

I would go with your third idea. You could have your main character hop between dimensions - could make for some really cool puzzles!

Okay the third one would be really cool but I don't know how you would mess with the gravity. But my favorite is definitely the 1st one with the Future City. I like the robot thing. But overall the heroic ideas are cool

Actually if he would have just rephrased it. "A sackperson standing by and decides to help the person"

I'd say the first one but make it so the boy gets taken away and the girl has to save him. But make the boy a cutout and the PLAYER the girl. It'd be better since your girl is the one playing

Ok, first of all SORRY to everyone that hinks of me like a sexist *******, I did not realize what I wrote before going to bed, and I could not do anything while I was at school. I think I have watched too much of =3 with Ray William Johnson...

I will change the Ideas as soon as possible, I am disappointed with myself.

I would go with the second example bc I could see some unique magic elements coming into play. Like having special powers which could effect the enviroment in different ways. And an epic magic boss scene is just screaming to be created.....

Last time I checked, I almost banged my head into the table, as the result was 3/3 on all of the poll votings, all had three, and a mocking 33.3 %... I will let this link remain open for some while, maybe a week or two. I will also post a picture of the couple, and one picture for each option, showing the art, like GruntosUK mentioned.

Anyway I think the third one is awesome. I've tried to build a level like the first one before, but having levels with an epic story is so hard :/

Gasp!!! There are now 13 votes, please, someone vote quick!!! I am right now outnumbered ( :/ ) by the number 13, for a school task, I wrote around 13 pages, and there are many more 13s all over the place, the number is crawling everywhere!!!

No, we haven't met in the real world, just seen each other on webcam, so yes, it is one of those "internet relationships", and it works quite well for me. We hope we can come and visit each other in the summer vacation, if we can. Either me to her or her to me.

Thank you for thinking my 3rd idea is awesome! The first one can be a bit hard, but if that's what is chosen, I am more worried about the logic. I have made in my mind a sort of lock which must be opened by some sort of tic tac toe puzzle, if it gets chosen.

I like number three, although that ties things up again. Sorry. Anyway, maybe some others will come along and figure it out. Hope that helps. Plus, I'd be glad to pop in sometime as you go along and offer suggestions. Your creations that I've seen were pretty good though, so I doubt I'll have much to give you.
