    Default The Honey Hive

    The Honey Hive by SX_shookie99
a platformer inside the honey hive, with honey pots, honeycombs, swinging and climbing, shooting, etc.

hey i am new to this forum, i have been hanging around a different forum and i have had a lot of success there so i figured i would give it go here too.

The Honey Hive is a level filled with platforming goodness and great visuals, honey pots that blast you higher, finding switches, eating honeycombs, blasting with the paintinator, and flying around a little with the jetpack. there is a quick video of this level courtesy of willguitarguy on youtube, just search "LBP the honey hive" to find it. also, yes there is an absence of bees, a storyline, and a boss fight, all of which were omitted due to a full thermo. i am working on a sequel that will have all that i hope. dressing as a bee makes this level that much better. this level is my most successful so far in my short time with lbp with 1600 plays and over 150 hearts. otherwise here are some pictures for your viewing pleasure:

Hey thanks. I hope you like it. I know this is not an F4F thread but feel free to give any feedback. This level has been very well received among the community so far.

I played it. It's a great level and I love the barrel cannons you used like in Spice and Co. I also love all the obstacles in it and all the extra points to find. Not much to say except that. I didn't have any problems/bugs with the level. I gave it and a plus I'll try featuring it on my blog.

    Thumbs up

Played this one and the sequel. You should link em with keys.
I was planning a bee hive level haha, you should drop by and check out my bee NPCs sometime. (only got that far heh)

Great visuals! Nicely balanced brown/yellow palette with splashes of white flowers (though sometimes they obsured my view, I would make em a little smaller myself). I loved the little bird houses. Nice shapes in the background also.
Gameplay had good variety. Even though the grabbable/shootable hexagons looked the same you showed the grab/paint switch at the start so the player didn't get confused.
Personally I am sick of barrel cannons, but what ever, people like em more than me I guess.

You might save some thermo by using the "gecko" metal material from the MGS pack. It has a hexagon pattern pefect for hives.

4 stars from me. Solid level, best hive level out there.

    Bad design 101
