Who likes Metal?

Hey LBPC.
I *******ing love metal - especially death metal, and I wanted to know who else here shares my passion.

Some of my favorite bands (in no particular order) are: Job For a Cowboy, The Faceless, Between the Buried and Me, Mastodon, All Shall Perish, Arch Enemy, Darkest Hour, Whitechapel, Winds of Plague, Cannibal Corpse, I Shot the Sheriff, The Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence, Heaven Shall Burn, Behemoth and I Killed the Prom Queen.

So tell me, do you like any of these bands and what are your favorite metal bands?

That is actually my favorite album of theirs, except Blood Mountain is a really really really great album, I change my mind, Blood Mountain is better =/. In under a few months I got all of their full albums. I'm getting Call of the Mastodon this weekend just to hear what their old singer sounded like (actually, I think he did vocals for Workhorse off of Remission)

Also, I heard Celtic Frost, toooooooooooo depressing for me.

No one that mentions death metal ever speaks about Death, Pestilence, Deicide, Monstrosity, Dismember, Hypocrisy, Carcass, just to name a few...

Yeah and no, actually.
I love new bands, I'm not one that lives in the past, but it would be cool if people would even listen to other stuff, to listen to the roots of a genre.
When I was a kid there was the Norse Black Metal, and I was curious not only to hear Enslaved, Burzum, Darkthrone, but even Venom, Celtic Frost, Bathory...stuff that was released even 10 years before but was connected to what I was liking at the time.

lol It's actually really funny how unoriginal really new bands are nowadays
Though most of the bands in my list have been together for I'd say at least five years.

I've heard of Death and they are great, but none of those other bands sound familiar to me, I'll have to check them out
Also, did you not see Cannibal Corpse? They've been around for over twenty years.

P.S. I'm only 18, so I wasn't exactly around when death metal was in its early days
But, you do make a good point about listening to the roots of the genre, so I shall do some research/listening this weekend

lol I know what you mean, but that's nothing: Cattle Decapitation, Slaughterbox, Braindrill, A**l C**t (lol right? I'm afraid I can't say the real name on here, so it's up to your imagination ) just to name a few...
I like all types of metal except for probably Grindcore, Power Metal, and most 80's Hair Metal (I do not like falsetto singing loll)

As I lay Dying is pretty good. I haven't heard their new album though, I'll have to check it out

*edit I looked up Jeff Loomis and he is an amazing guitarist! Sounds a hell of a lot like Arch Enemy though... just saying

I've heard of **** ****, but I haven't heard them, if that makes sense. Personally I have really low expectations, I hate it when band choose a name just to shock (Unless of course you're talking about ******* ** ***** ** * ****. They own).

lol It's pretty much exactly that. They are horrible XD I would consider A*** C*** to be Grindcore and I hate Grindcore so... lol

But yeah, I just hate the metal where the guitars have so much gain piled on it sounds like they're dragging something through mud.

Metallica all the way! I also like Primal Fear and Iron Maiden. Mastodon is also awesome!
