Spoiler - Game Rules

To play, you need to sign up. To sign up, just comment here saying you want to play. After I get a decent amount of players, I will PM every one of you your special roles. You are NOT allowed to tell anyone your role . It's a secret between you and me. After I assign everyone their roles, I will then announce the start of the game.

There are two factions; the Mafia and Civilians. The game proceeds in turns.*

Each night, while the civilians sleep, the dreaded mafia privately decides on which civilian to assassinate. They will do this through PM's. When they decide, they will PM me.

Each day, the terrified mob of civilians accuse people of being in the mafia and execute someone. Everyone- including the mafia, will have to vote on who to execute each day. The person with the most votes, dies. Civilians may NOT PM each other or anyone in the game. All discussion about the game should remain in this thread only.*

If the civilians manage to kill off all of the mafia members, they win the game. But, if the mafia outnumbers the civilians, they lose and the mafia wins.

The game is largely about denouncing people as mafia members, and eloquently proclaiming your innocence. There's no real way to know who's in the mafia and who isn't. "Look at those shifty eyes! She's obviously in the mafia!" and "I've never trusted that guy," are both perfectly valid reasons to accuse someone. The sheer injustice of it all is part of the fun.

ROLES
Mafia Faction
Mafioso- Is a member of the mafia. Every night, all the members of the Mafia will come together and PM each other to decide which Civilian to kill.

Civilian Faction
Sheriff- Has the ability to detect the role of any player. Every night, the Sheriff will PM me about a particular player's role and I will tell them. However, since no one can reveal their roles, the Sheriff will have to convince everyone else of what they know through trust.
Cop- Same as the Sheriff, but instead of knowing particular roles, they will only have the ability to know whether a player is a mafioso or a civilian.
Serial Killer- A very powerful role. The Serial Killer may kill anyone during the night, but can only do this twice in the whole game. But, he/she can't kill two people in one night.
Doctor- Can protect one player from any night attacks. They will PM me each night of the player of their choice.
Extra Roles- There are some roles I will not put on this list. You'll have to find out during game play :P.*
Civilians- All remaining players will be regular civilians with no additional abilities. They will vote each day, but that's about it.

I want at least 20 or so players. 1/4 of them will be the mafia, and the rest will be civilians.

TURNS
The game is supposed to start at night, but I want all platers to at least have one chance to play, so we'll start during the day. (Keep in mind, Day and Night have nothing to do with day and night in real life. It's just the name of a turn.) During the day, all players will vote on who to kill; even the mafia members. After all the votes come in, night starts.*

During the night, no one is permitted to post about anything game-related. All game-related discussion should take place during the day. After I receive all of the PM's from the Mafia and the special civilian roles, I will provide another short narrative of what took place at night, and then the day starts once again. As I said earlier, this keeps going until all of the Mafia are dead, or when the Mafia outnumber the Civilians.

Reminders- Please do not reveal your role to anyone else, or discuss the game anywhere else. I want to avoid cheating. The Mafia may PM other Mafia members whenever they wish, but Civilians cannot. Also, remember: No game-related posts during a night time turn. You're still allowed to talk to each other, but it cannot be about the game itself.*

2. Were you not going to host it somewhere else? If so, then why should you host it in two places?

... I'm not too sure if I want to host that much anyway O-o. I'll host next round, but I might twist the rules a bit... I'm thinking of making it into more of a sci-fi setting, where everyone is on a spaceship, and someone is the alien, and the alien can change forms, so that the alien can... eh, I'll need to think that out more. If people are interested in such a twist.

*frantically votes* If your game changes the way Mafia is played significantly, I think you should just post it. I'd play both of them.

Look, I had dibs first - It's not fair to me to have someone, even someone as awesome as Rock, to come up and steal the game from me. So, this idea should either be implemented by Rock next round, or implemented by me now. Choose, just don't take over my game.
