They're doing what final fantasy does, keep the series name but change the setting and characters and maybe have a few recuring things.

In terms of the setting at atmosphere, from the trailer I get a very "southern" feeling. I'm thinking along the lines of New Orleans.

The city itself is above a large rural expanse, so it is very possible the area it is situated is above Europe. I don't remember if there were any flags relating to particular areas, but i'd imagine the city will reflect the area it is closest to. That, or it would reflect the man/woman that had the idea for Columbia.

Moar screenshots from Infinite.
Elizabeth definitely looks a bit cartoonish.

Bioshock. I can't wait for this one
EDIT:
Thanks for the posters Oddmania!
To me it looks like it is the opposite of Rapture. Instead of being under no religion, this one looks like Christianity and Patriotism had their missionaries well trained. I find it ironic that it happens in "heaven" though. Not that peaceful after all. :/Last edited by moonwire; 08-23-2010 at 04:10 PM.
In the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

The first Bioshock really commentated on a purely capitalist system, Bioshock 2 then shifted to the exact opposite idealism which was basically communism. This new Bioshock seems to move onto a theocracy (I think that's the term), a state which is run mostly by the church mixed with an overly-pious attitude of patriotism.

Three new screenshots !
With the brand new Big Daddy (now called Handyman)
(Actually, no, we've already seen what the Handyman looks-like in the trailer, and it's probably not him on the screenshot. Phew... !)

If it was a Handyman, these may be from the very beginning of the games creation - Gamesradar did an article about "things you didn't know about Bioshock: Infinite" and the Handyman having a moustache was apparently an original idea which was scrapped.
Either way, I wish this was out sooner!Last edited by Fish94; 09-08-2010 at 04:25 PM.

A 10 minutes-long gameplay video!

It looks excellent..

That gameplay demo was fantastic! I think that will be the last video I watch though. I want to experience the rest of Bioshock Infinite as I'm actually playing it!

Yeah I think 'gameplay' might be a bit generous

Was very nice none the less and we saw some decent combat, particularly the way that AI don't just charge at you soon as look at you is a welcome change.

So I assume there will be a Bioshock 3 next year, seeing as this isn't by 2K?
I'm confused xD
Either way, the gameplay demo was amazing, can't wait. Hopefully they'll release a playable demo at some point!
Also, I don't see why they removed the HUD for this. I was almost convinced the entire section was auto-controlled."Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess

Ripples form on the water's surface
The wandering soul knows no rest" - LOVELESS, Act 1.
