The Wheel Deal by Fastbro
Return to the bedroom to celebrate your recent victory against the soldiers. The king of toys has thrown a party in your honour but out of nowhere disaster stikes... The king is taken away by a giant hand! Now you must travel to the dark side... Of the room to get him back!
Presenting my entry for the "Race For The Case" contest. This level was kinda frustrating to make, due to the thermo filling up super fast and the level hitting the right wall of the background half way through making the level. Meaning that I had to miss out the last vehicle I had planned. Though overall I think it came out pretty good, so I hope you enjoy playing it!
(Ps. I recommend you pay attention to all the writing around you)

Hi, Fastbro! Very nice level with Turbo series style! Nice characters (not very original, but pleasant), cool environments, nice stickers placements, interesting obstacles and mechanics. I have much fun on this level. Good work! I gave you 5 stars for it!

Hey Fastbro!
This is probably the best entry yet for this contest, which is quite annoying, as I have an entry which is almost finished. Unfortunately, I loved the design of the level. It felt just like the turbo pack. I hated the way you made your catapult so well, it drove really well, and sadly was very good at handling the terrain. I was happy to find one thing I didn't like, which was the ending, it felt a little bit cut off, although I appreciate you had space difficulties. Overall, this is a very dissapointingly good level. Good luck in the contest (although not too much).

What? Your level is awesome! (Plus mine doesn't have any angry bears in it)

Thanks, after seeing poo do something similar in Destiny. I felt like doing it... (Shameless contest advertisement...)

I never knew you were entering! I bet your entry isn't is gonna be AwesomeX10.

I'm sorry my catapult upset you so much.

I guess I took the easy way out, huh? It just shows how laz- I mean, bad the thermo was.

Hey Fast B
I was the first to play this yesterday as I stumbled across it looking for another contest level entry. I'm happy to say I was the first who 5 starred it too. Great entry man, and I have my work cut out with all these awesome contest entries. My level is done, and I will publish in about a day, just so that there's not this influx of race levels, lol. But, yeah, back to you, the level was really charming and had the kids room vibe nailed solid. I don't own turbo pack, but I imagine this would fit right in. Everything was nicely modeled and fun to use including the sled. Good luck buddy, see you at the finish line!Last edited by kaiju_kid; 08-24-2010 at 08:22 PM.

This post will contain feedbacks. People with allergies to feedbacks should not take or handle this post.

Spoiler - Feedbacks is readies! :D
Wow, right off the bat things look AMAZING. I'll be honest and say I was never a big fan of your visual style, but this level definitely changes that. The bed is designed flawlessly and the books were a great idea. (I just hope to see Blue Blitz Cereal, part of a balanced breakfast somewhere. :-P) The platforming is intuitive and feels very much like a story level.
The catapult is EPIC. Seriously, outside of salieri's AT-AT, it may be the coolest vehicle the PSP has ever seen. This entire area looks great. I launch myself up to the King's area. I'm glad to see you used your contest stickers in a non-spammy place, appreciated. Wow. The mom puts the bear away? That's just genius, seriously. Can't wait to see where this level goes!
*Hops on sled* *Sees Blue Blitz book* *Gets off sled, Sackboy dances*
Wow, that was a fun ride. LMAO @ Jack's dialog. Great platforming here, and love the Glockenpop track on the wall. Love the King too, very nice. Oh, look at that, left open for a sequel? :-)
Anyways, time to test out my new review system! :-D
Looks: 5/5
Everything looked amazing! Seriously, great job on the graphics. Especially the books. :-P
Platforming: 5/5
Really captured the story mode's feel here. Nothing too extravagant, and that made it perfect.
Story: 5/5
A simple plot packed to the brim with humor? Yes please!
Replay Value: 4/5
No epic chains here, but replay value is still high.
The Good: Amazing visuals, great platforming!
The Bad: A little more bubbles would have gone a long way.
The Ugly: Jack is stuck in a world with Glockenpop and Rocket Camels? Serves him right for leaving the PSP side! >:-D

Everything was nicely modeled and fun to use including the sled. Good luck buddy, see you at the finish line!

Wow, thanks! I take that as a massive compliment as it was the first vehicle I've ever made on LBP.

Glad you liked the Glockenpop joke, I wasn't sure it was worth bringing up due to how old the joke is.

Hey Buddy!!

Another great level, maybe your best yet. This was very well done from start to finish, with a ton of fun things to do and great scenery to look at. You captured the turbo levels vibe perfectly, I actually think yours looked better in spots.
The level was laid out great. I like how you separated the different sections, and they all had a different feel and unique atmosphere. Your sticker work, as usual is marvelous. No sticker that you have ever used, in my opinion looks out of place. Your stories are always enjoyable, and I was laughing a lot during my playtroughs. Your characters always seem so real because your dialogue is so good. The gameplay was very good too, there were some nice bubble chains to go for, great platforming, and that catapult section was a blast.
The books were a great touch. When I saw you were listing levels, I thought...... I hope he has one of mine, and I was so happy to see Tera Cota on the shelf!! That was very cool of you. You made my day, as well as many others, I'm sure.
Anyway, this level was great!! Another heart.
Later my friend.....

Hidy Ho Fastbro!
I just got done with playing your awesome level and I wanted to leave some feedback.
First of all, I want to comment on how far you have come as a creator! This level looks and plays outstanding. It is top notch and I had a blast playing through it.
Your shout out system by placing level names and PSN's on books and blocks was genius. I was so excited to be walking a long a book named Destiny, and it was fun seeing other people's levels called out to! Great idea there!
The platforming in the level was solid, but what I want to comment on is the vehicle. I assume that the judges will take the vehicles very seriously considering that this is a Turbo! Pack inspired level, and of all the levels I have played (Kaiju's, Arklon's, and Sketch's so far), yours had the best vehicle by a long shot because it had multiple things that it could do, and you used those multiple things. I was very happy to see what you did with that, and if I was a judge (and I AM NOT for this one), that alone would have pushed you to the front of the pack :-) Great work with that.
The story that you had was a lot of fun to. It really meshed well with the look and style of the level.
Awesome work Fastbro! Keep it up and good luck with the competition :-) You have my vote for sure!
