If everyone gave up just because some idiot hated their work, nobody would get anywhere, there WILL always be someone who 'hates' what you've done.

You shouldn't give up creating, there could be many reasons why they don't like your level. They might just be jealous of your work. Every good creator will always have someone who wants to do what they did, but they themselves knew they could never do it.
Like with me, I've had so many people who asked told me to put my creation into a prize bubble or make my level copyable, of course I didn't so suddenly the thing they wanted so much became 'gaey*', 'stupid', 'ugly' and so on..

Good on you for not naming the hater (except the ones you DID name). Anyhow, don't give up creating based on the possibly jealous reaction of two or three nincompoops. Some of the greatest levels ever created have been downgraded to 3 or 4 stars by the haters. They base their actions on things like jealousy, a need to feel superior (by putting others down) and selfishness. Look at it this way - at least you got to find out what that first person was like before you went headlong into a lengthy creating project with him. Sounds like someone who wanted to have control, and they generally don't make good co-creators.

Anyhow, I suggest trying to find a few good pals here. I found my best buds (except for one) through the LBPC social groups - and not the "project team" ones, but ones like the Fun & Friendly, etc., where people just like to meet for a chat, as that's where you see personalities showing through.

I hope you have a bit more success than you have had so far. And perhaps don't go showing your projects to people unless you trust them. Still, if people are going to be jerks, they're going to be jerks no matter what you or I do. Just don't become one of them yourself. The golden rule: treat others the way that you would like them to treat you. Over and out.
