I am probably one of the few persons who actually love school through and through, I see the best in every teacher and always try to follow in classes. I am still a bit :/ to different ways of learning and forms for homework, and a bit to the school system. Here in Norway it is all about making the bad ones come up. As a result, the shining lights are pulled down into darkness. Not where I am though, I got awesome teachers!
On the matter on people though, I have my opinions. I don't like sitting besides people with bad grades and who does not grasp the concept of what we are working on, nor paying attention. If they are smart but irritating I can withstand them, as good grades are more important for me. I do in general like girls to sit with too, as I just find them more relaxed to be around. They are more likely to do what is said and cooperate, plus they are nicer through in through (in general).
On the matter of bullies, I recommend you to start at some martial arts sports and learn self defense. Makes you feel a lot more confidence! *Hits through wall* "HIYA!!!" ... Now excuse me, I gotta hide before my mum finds that hole, she haz black belt in Taekwondo D: /runsIn the beginning the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people very angry and has been widely regarded as a bad move.

I really don't hate the being at school aspect, it's really just the teachers at our school, which aren't great.

Ya, your grades you told us a while ago in the F&F says that XD I am not too fond of geography either, as in capitals in countries, etc. I never manage to link those together :/ And I am not too fond of religion either (yeah we got it here in Norway) where there is around 40% Christianity and around 25-30% maybe to the 4 other big ones. That is at least what the state has decided.
My reaction to this:

As in American 10th grade? If so, then congrats on becoming a Sophomore!
You'll probably take a computer class, so I suggest you stay on LBPC more.
(I remember computer class... it sucked. We had to use commands to navigate around the computer. Thank God for whoever invented the G.U.I.).

Bluh, GameStop... So evil. But, I bet it's a lot more difficult for you around spring break and such... Oh man, stuff of nightmares right there.
*FACEPALM*
Oh man, I feel sorry for you. That's really quite terrible. If you're ever in my area I will bake you a pity cupcake.
I almost wish that nobody invented the GUI. For the most part a command line is way faster for the vast majority of tasks. Plus, maybe if we didn't have GUI's people would learn how to type properly. Maybe.
At any rate, most computer courses at the high school level are complete bunk. In grade 10 we had a bunch of word art projects using Microsoft Word... I pretty much just asked the teacher what that has to do with computer science. Naturally, he couldn't really answer the question. He was not a very proficient computer science teacher, in my opinion. The one I have now, however, is quite good. He might not know too terribly much about the field in the grand scheme of things, but he pretty much let me do whatever I wanted to in the class. This resulted in me doing far more work than I normally would have, and actually learning some stuff (despite the fact that the things I learned were not even touched upon during the entire computer science curriculum at the high-school level). Something as simple as that can really be the difference between a mediocre teacher, and a fantastic teacher. It kind of goes along with the saying "there are two types of students in the world; the self taught, and the hopeless". It's more true than a lot of people would like to admit, I think.
But, it's funny... I think if students are just allowed to kind of go in their own direction with things they would end up doing far more work, and learn far more. Why? Because it benefits their grades? No, nobody really cares that much about their grades, I think. They would do it because it interests them, and because it's a sort of "self fulfillment" type of thing.
I think the same thing sort of applies to LBP, really. For the most part people don't make all of these amazing creations just for the trophies and whatnot. They do it because they have a genuine interest in it, and they want to improve... Because it's "fun".
Every time I talk to somebody that doesn't touch-type, but claims that their custom method of typing is better and faster... Let's just say that I die a little inside as I watch them type at approximately 20 words per minute.
SIGH.

I guess I am pretty lucky. I go somewhere really quite awesome, some kind adult some time ago realised how ridiculous some rules are and decided to set up a my school. Teachers are actually nice and want to help you out (not let out all those pent up frustrations into one blast of flaming, roaring, spittle filled anger on the one kid who left forgot his book one time to many...)
Going along with what Cog said, I do think people work a lot harder here, even if they are way to cool to admit it.
(tell no one I said that...
)
But school is school, and I guess without it I would have played LBP so much I eyes would have become buttons by now.
And um, did I just interrupt something here???Last edited by DizzyZebra; 09-08-2010 at 07:06 PM.

I'm pretty pleased with my timetable actually - I've only got half days! So I've got most afternoons off, and on the two days where I start in the afternoon - I get to sleep in! So not too bad for me!
