Funnily enough I took apart one of my PS3's recently. It was a cheap second hand one off of ebay, and it was loud so I decided to open to up to apply my own better thermal paste to keep it cooler (hoping the fan wouldn't go crazy still... but it only worked to a small extend). I took photos of the whole process, and found out why it was cheap too! (Check out the glue... I had to literally tear it apart xD !! Stupid previous owner had ripped all the sliding mechanisms off so had to glue the case together, which I didn't know about at at the time of buying):






It's all working fine still, and it was actually really fun to do this

I don't know how anybody else feels, but I was always taking stuff apart when I was a kid, so seeing a working PS3 taken apart, awaiting being out together again is kind of cool, even though I am truly sorry yours broke, Josh. Thanks for the pictures. I think it looks cool.
