Q: I'm in NA and I'm hoping I get in still. How do I ensure that Sony can notify me that I have been selected?
A: make sure you have the two boxes ticked-off under account information on your PS3 xmb which allows SONY to share your information and contact you via your e-mail account.

Q: I'm in EU and I'm worried the email never came, because I didn't have my setting correct. What do I do?
A: Try this link. If you can gain access to that forum then you are in! Post a message there explaining your situation.

Those are the settings you'll need on the main account for your PS3. If you haven't been active on your main account, it is unknown if you are still eligible for the beta. We would like to assume yes, but only MediaMolecule and Sony know the exact criteria for choosing beta participants. The only official criteria we've been told are highlighted in the OP.

I just want to clear something up regarding the "two boxes"

I hate spam, and I hate giving out my information. As you can probably guess I don't have the either box checked. I don't receive marketing materials from Sony, and I don't allow Sony to share my information with its partners for marketing purposes.
Even though I do not have these boxes checked I still receive beta invites on the PSN. I was fortunate enough to be selected for the water beta and am patiently awaiting the arrival of my key for the LBP2 beta.
Right now all we can do is sit back, and wait patiently.

Mm is now owned by SONY, hence why SONY wants you to tick the two boxes to get your email. Back in the water beta Mm was still independent and back then they made you sign up to the water beta through a website, which is how you got selected without having to do the two box thing because SONY never owned Mm back then.

so yeah for us who don't have the water beta we STILL NEED TO TICK THOSE BOXES :/

well regardless i wouldn't put people off on checking the two boxes since that'll ruin their chances of getting in the beta...since you NEED to get those boxes ticked now since SONY owns MM

Previous BETA testers are automtically invited, but people who weren't in the BETA before still have to click those.

Hmm that is strange, because those of us that were in the Water beta were given our keys to the LBP2 beta via email.... So, IDK if you'll receive yours through PSN or not. Maybe you will I guess. If it were me, I'd be unticking those boxes and moving the occasional email from Sony (it's like 1 a week, at most) into the spam folder by myself.

I'm still awaiting the start of the NA beta. No emails have been sent out as of yet.
I have since removed my original post as some believe sharing my experiences as a beta tester constitutes bragging . . . oh well.

Do you have to be a certain age to get the beta? Do you have to have parental control restrictions at unlimited (if there is that )? Can you download the beta with a master account and use it on all users on the system? Will Mm send the beta code to a master account if a sub account is online regularly? Here's my problem. I used a different e-mail when I signed up for the water beta. When I signed up, I didn't get the code for some reason. Now, I have a different e-mail that is -17. Is it possible for me to get the LBP2 beta?

As far as we know It doesn't matter. But it is debatable, I suppose.

Just look at jedi_1993 - perfect example. Sub acc and all, he still got the beta email.

Not sure, legaly, it should turn you down from the beta, but I'm not sure.


I don't want anyone to find out if it *does* turn you down from the beta. that is all.
