And there is no way to delay it on Europe. The game is made in Europe so if it is delayed somewhere, it's US

I wouldn't actually be surprised if it would get delayed 'til 2011

    Meh. I would be.

This game has far to much hype. Killing the hype severely is not always a good idea. You'll end up with people that are uninterested in buying the game.

Just IMO. I think Nov is fairly set in stone, atleast for NA.

I agree it is set in stone. They would be stupid to delay it, even if it does have bugs. There is something called a patch to fix that. Christmas and all the other holidays are a month later. That gives people time to tell their parents or grandparents if they want it. But i'm getting it on release day!

    Tell that to GT5.

    Default Hero 4 Hire

Yeah it's set in stone until it no longer is... I started a level over a year ago (b4 there was a LBP2 announced) based on LBP2 being delayed until 2012!!! Guess what? I'm working on it again... free publicity is just to good to let go.

    GRAVEL MARVEL: Hero 4 Hire

"The world strode slowly upon my heart measuring precisely each fractal footfall with shiftless negligence. I lay in its' wake scathe-sighted, the Gravel of Man, pandering pan in hand prospecting paradise, and you... talk of my immortal soul?"

With A Name Like GRAVEL... you can count on a rash!

  12. Thanks!

I would to first say to every one that I said fairly before set in stone...

Due to the nature of the target audience of lBP2, releasing it before December would be the best for sales.

Also, I do not see any current problems with the beta that would take more than two months to fix.

  14. Thanks!

Aw come on, you should know by now double time is the mother of all trolls here at LBPC, just ignore him and he goes away, no worries.

yeah, aren't a lot of you forgetting that the general target audience isn't old enough to purchase COD, and may like cars, but aren't really interested in GT5's realism (last I checked cart racing was all the rage amongst these youngsters). All of those games listed have a T or M rating (exempting GT5, at least one would think) and all are geared towards an older audience in general. LBP2 has no serious competition as far as the publishers should be concerned, certainly nothing of it's caliber. If there is a delay, the reasoning better be more than there were too many other big games coming out, cause there's always going to be too many big games for everyone to play. LBP2 already is setting the bar, I don't think they need to weasel the date later to sell.

I reckon a lot of people will give black ops a miss because of that bad reputation of MW2. The only real competition that LBP2 will have is GT5.

I mean, look at all the great games that the article listed are coming out right around the same time. AC Brotherhood. Medal of Honor. Gran Turismo 5. Then you have Need for Speed Hot Pursuit coming out just one week before it, and Call of Duty Black Ops (which is poised to be the biggest seller this year on all councils) the same day as LBP2 is set to release on.

In all honesty, I DO want to get Need for Speed and Black Ops. As much as i want LBP2? No, but I still want them. And I'd rather they push LBP2 back a couple months in order to fix a ton of bugs then release it at the same time as the other games, and not have as many copies sold. Because frankly, when people have to make the decitions, most people are going to buy COD over LBP2.
    Can't they be delayed instead?

*Looks at my school of COD playing chavs*

    Doubt it.

Even if it is delayed in Japan, that's still bad news, I love some of the Japanese creators

I hate to say it also, but I think that this could be a huge factor if the decision is made to bump the game. Ordinarily, if a game is going to be delayed to continue polishing it...the company will usually announce the delay no later than six months before the targeted release, however strategic release date shifting very often happens late in the cycle, but the good news is that probably will only be a month or two and they might even throw us an open beta to tide people over. The thing that makes me think this rumor might have some truth behind it is that Sony's response is the canned "we don’t comment on rumour or speculation" (which usually means that the option is being considered, if not already decided).

I'm not buying any competition angle... LBP doesn't have any competition... If S0NY published a PS3 designed exclusively to play only LBP-- I'd trade in my launch day 60 gig in a heartbeat! Yeah i'd miss some titles but gran tourismo? Geez, feels like I spent half my life waiting for the next chapter... and from 2 on, I like them less and less!

If lbp is delayed-- competitive sales #'s won't be the culprit.

Remember what happened with the launch of LBP1:

Hopefully Sony is confident that the sequel's sales will continue to be strong after the holidays and release it on time.

Also remember that LBP1 was a totally new idea, from a totally new Dev.
