I feel like killing the people who beat up others who are defenseless, when someone actually KILLS someone else and than others mock the victim...I would do far worse.
My heart goes out to the victims family.

It is a shame that people like that exists. We (at least some of us) live in countries where we can say anything we want, no matter how vile or offensive. But what would it be like if we couldn't?

I wasn't trying to be a snob, I just found the idea of /b/ helping somebody to be hilarious. Sorry if I came off as harsh.

Its pretty pathetic that someone would do that but then again in their mind it gives them power, and power makes them feel good. :/

What a world we live in...

Unfortunately, this happens all the time in the world that we live in today. However, you have to remember that not everybody is like this. There is no excuse for their actions as they ARE horrible actions indeed, but you can't do anything about it. Just remember that if they find such a horrible thing funny, that they must not have very entertaining lives that they have to resort to such bad measures to get a laugh. It saddens me that I don't find these types of things surprising anymore :\

"A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new."

... there's dead baby jokes, cancer victim jokes, aids jokes, starving african jokes.... any time there is a tradgedy on a large scale (hurricain/earth quake/tsunami) there will be a thousand jokes based on it.And Macnme
I'm not sure where you got this idea of 'the majority of the world' decides to amuse themselves with the deaths of others they don't know. If you can provide evidence for this I'd gladly like to see it otherwise I think you'll find that 'the majority of the world' think more along the lines of "It's a tragedy, I don't know them but my thoughts go out to them".
If you have ever even smirked at one of these jokes, then you are being 'disrespectful' to the victims, and mourners of the victims.
But the truth is, we don't always take these persons feelings into account when it comes to humour because it doesn't affect us directly, and when it does, we are usually in the minority.
Just because someone finds it distasteful, doesn't mean they have the right to silence others. And in alot of these cases, it is the fact that people do find it distasteful that gives rise to the humour. If people weren;t outraged, like the OP, then it would be alot less funny to them.
Humour is a release, a way of coping.
These guys posting "Lol, Your Dead" may be very frightened of their own mortality, and find laughing at death a reasonable coping method. Every record of our existence will eventually be erased by the passage of time, and people have different ways of coping with that inevitable fact (religion, despair, humour).
I suspect they also get a kick out of the reactions to their taboo humour, which itself is a form of humour... the "Embarassment" style humour of revelling in the outraged reactions of those who "don't get the joke" - which makes it even funnier for them.

@Everyone
Stop acting like these are the worst people in the world just because they made a joke about someone who died.
Yea, ok, random dude kills girl. /sad
Its a tragedy to anyone who prizes homo sapien life, to everyone else it's /shrug/
"What a world we live in"/"How far we have come"?
Yea, what a world we live in where people get angry at other people for not being angry.
The worlds a ****ed up place.
If this story ****** you off i'd hate to see how you'd react if you saw how the world really is.

I find it ironic that soon after this thread was posted, /b/ had another an hero to mock. Love those BRB Bridge pictures.
