@ Dapiek: yeah, gatling lasers pwn cazadors in seconds but consume ammo too quick, I had 90 energy weps and tesla armor that has a bonus +10 eng weps giving me 100 eng weps in total, I killed like 4 in a row zero problem (I play in normal and hardcore mode), If you want to practice killing cazadors go to red rock canyon up the dried out waterfall there's like 20-30 there.

(Also I have a perk that makes enemies explode as a plasma grenade when killed with energy weapons, which makes more damage to nearer enemies, I also raged through 3 cazadors using a thermic lance and killed them taking like half my life out in the process)

seems hardcore mode is main reason of ps3 freezing and other crashes.
if you start a game without HC mode, and never turn it on.
Fallout NV will almost never crash.
(crashed on me, hence im posting stuff on lbpc the irony)

restarted NV about a week ago, doing all sidequests and knowing what perks i wanted.
About a week later i got 70k caps, and not knowing what to do with it.
Now im looking for all follower-support chars.

But ed-e got stuck in vault 17 (i think it was 17) and i cant find him,
he went unconsionous and he never returned to me, stil got his perk though.

Dont know for life what I have to do with veronica questwise.

    kk food ready, im gone.

It seems that if you try and start Veronica's quest after doing too much other stuff the special conversations (regarding the Brotherhood's decline) with her that trigger the quest don't show up. I'm guessing this actually happens if you go through the full gamut of other Brotherhood of Steel related quests before starting her's.
However, there is a workaround I think; when you have her as a companion, have full access to the BoS bunker and if you get your hands on Euclid's C-Finder (for this one I think you need to divert power from HELIOS One to ARCHIMEDES II as well), the Pulse Gun, or possibly the Vault 22 data while she's with you. When I got the C-Finder after completing the HELIOS One quest it automatically jumpstarted Veronica's quest in it's final stage.

Got my ranger armour I found a mod which gives you the armour once you've done some stuff for the ncr so it fitted in with the story a bit but still annoying they didn't put it in the game in the first place. Screenshot

I'm 52 hours in now and I've slowed down on the main quest a lot to do side missions, unfortunately a lot of my companions died so I won't be able to do their stuff but there's always next playthrough

I'm starting to struggle a bit again, the start of the game was tough then in the middle I had tons of ammo so all was well if I used my smarts and planned out a fight carefully but now shops aren't stocking ammo fast enough so I'm avoiding a lot more fights now.

Cazadores and nightstalkers are my main fear; I killed most of the deathclaws on the pathways I usually go so they aren't a threat anymore (at least until they respawn :S) the Cazadores seem to respawn everytime I use a pathway and as soon as they get near me I'm dead in the blink of an eye; nightstalkers tear my limbs apart rather than killing me but its very annoying to limp for 20 mins to get back to a doctor.

Another mod I recommend is this quest one. It adds several bounty missions that all have a unique story and its all voice acted. You get unique weapons added in the mod and a nice bunch of caps too. Only thing is it really makes the game an 18 at times; you don't see anything that you wouldn't in vanilla but some of the diaries left by the targets are disturbing to say the least. Link

Cazadores dont like shotguns, especially riot shotguns (with at least guns on 80) (shoot their wings, makes em much slower)
    Nightstalkers.. same thing.

cant install mods on the ps3 one

Yeah but unfotunatly my trusty riot shotgun is broken from way too much use, can't afford the repairs and haven't found a new one yet :/

Trying to get by with my hunting rifle because the ammo seems common but I swear the sights are off I keep missing no matter where I aim on the sights. Maybe its because I'm not maxed on guns and i really need to find a scope.

@Shermzor: Use repair kits, you can craft them easily (or you can find them, I know there's one on the BoS safe house basement), go to novac on the gas station, there's a lot of ductape, wrenches, wonder glue, scrap metal, scrap electronics, also most of the materials are on the basement of the Repconn test site (lots of wonder glue).

  8. Thanks!

    Uhm, fallout map:
    http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Fallout:_New_Vegas_map
    The snipers nest ( http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Sniper%27s_nest )
Has a goby campaign scout rifle .308 that is almost as powerfull as the anti materiel rifle.
    need lockpick 100 though.
also at the entrance of black mountain (near neils shack) there will be super mutants with riot shotguns, miniguns etc.
just kill about 5 or 6 of them, collect the weapons and come back again when you boot up fallout.
this will get you a sick arsenal quite fast.

    also boomer town http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Nellis_Hangars
Has like 12 combat armors and helmets laying around.. can be sold for quite a lot!

I actually have too low repair to make them xD

But yeah i completely forgot about them, thanks. They've probably been gathering dust in my inventory.

use a magazine then (Fixin' things), if you have the comprehension perk it doubles the points given by the magazines

I'm going to have to believe you're right; I've been playing in Hardcore mode and my game completely freezes whenever I try to use Euclid's C-Finder to call down a orbital strike every time. This also seriously sucks considering my latest character specializes in energy weapons and I really want to shoot giant lasers at enemies...

Also, I've been progressing pretty steadily on my "Evil Old Man" run and I've made some interesting findings that might interest people who hate Cazadores. First off, my new character specializes in energy weapons as I mentioned before as well as explosives because I wanted a play style that emphazised destructive potential over actual practicality.
As I guessed earlier, the Laser RCW works great on them if they're rushing you and you shoot at them while backpeddling and there is a steady supply of those weapons and ammunition for them from the fiends in the territories west of McCarren. And on a more unexpected note, grenade rifles/launchers work surprisingly well at gaining an edge against them at the onset of a battle; you can fire a grenade round at them in VATS and even if the probability of hitting is very low (even in the single digits) there's still a good chance of them getting caught in the radius of the explosion and crippling assorted limbs along the way to hinder their effectiveness (this tactic seems to work well against clusters of enemies in general actually), if your lucky you may be able to frenzy one or more of them into fighting each other. This generally doesn't work as well if they are at the peak of a hill or they are between you and a ledge (as the round may completely overshoot the ground near them). In any event, I've been having more luck getting off preemptive surprise attacks on them with fired explosive rounds then I ever did with guns, although the fact that I took perks like Demolition Expert and Splash Damage along the way probably helped.

That's pretty interesting, I tried using 40mm grenades on a deathclaw once, It didn't made anything!! those things are ridiculously powerful but usually go in packs of 2 so its not that hard to take them down with a sniper rifle in sneak from a distance, cazadors move a LOT! they are not easy to shoot while trying to sneak on them, so using explosives makes sense as they have a good blast radius and will probably catch them up (still I once tried to use grenades against one that was behind a hill, huge mistake, it alerted him and like other 6, you can guess what happened next), right now I started a new game with my stealth character, I will focus on guns, melee, sneak, and explosives, the first thing I try to get is the Ratslayer as its a great weapon for beginners and is not that hard to get if you know how to sneak and kill those stupid giant rats...

Oh and lakelurk's are nothing compared to mirelurk kings in FO3 tho, they are too easy to kill....

It's probably safe to assume that shrapnel from an explosive blast wouldn't have too much effect on a Deathclaw given their damage threshold. I actually haven't fought any deathclaws with the old man yet, but I'm planning on using mines instead to lay traps while I snipe at them with the YCS/186.
And frankly, as I experiment more with explosive firing armaments I can't help but feel that the hand-thrown explosives are completely inferior to them. You can't craft Nuka Grenades like in 3, and using a rifle or launcher provides a much faster and accurate delivery that doesn't overshoot as much with the only downsides being a higher AP cost and an inability to lob them over obstructions. Pulse grenades are probably the only hand-tossed grenades I'd use at this point, but robots aren't nearly as common as they were in 3 either.

OH yeah you are soo right, there is a huuuge lack of robots in this game and that disappointed me, they could have at least made the NCR used them as scouts or something, hell even talon company used them in FO3 (and those guys were far less organized than the NCR) and there were crazy random robots lurking the wastes too, I just got the pulse gun (which without doubts owns the pulse greandes/mines and looks epic) but been only able to kill very few robots, I can even count the places where there are robots in the game: Crashed Vertibird, Repconn headquarters, HELIOS I, Vault 11, Securitron Vault, The strip, Lucky 38, and Nellis Airforce base, Primm, those are the only places I have encountered robots so far, compared to all the places in FO3, a pulse gun there would have been really useful IMO.

(Yeah I know the pulse stuff works with Power armored guys but the only ones in the mojave are the BoS [NCR heavy troopers don't count as their power armor is modified], in FO3 you had the Outcasts (counting those in op Anchorage Add on), American troopers (Anchorage simulation), BoS, the Enclave, and Ashur in the Pitt add on, hell even a bunch of raiders make a random appearance wearing power armor that they took from a dead enclave patrol....)
