Default How to make a succesful clan

Ive been through alot to do with clans, and the most important things you need in clans as a leader or co leader are 1. Respect 2. Loyalty and 3 A family. now as in family imean you need your members to feel like they belong to something and they have people who got there back no matter what A.K.A a family. Loyalty and respect come in handy when dealing with problems and situations where your authority needs to be respected.

before you go and say OH! im gonna make my hq and start a clan called the super awesome epic non noobs who are epic, think will this lvl be apealing in the eyes of other creaters? will this name be stuck in there head or will they see your a realy serious creater when they play your 1 star 3 plays no hearts hq that looks like it got whipped up in two minutes, no to mention has no members in the members section.

Before even considering publishing an hq or clan lvl (other than recruitment or intro lvls) you need... MEMBERS!

without members what do you have? you have.. YOU! what kind of clan is one person?

when making your hq (if you need or want one) Think to yourself, Is this original? will people play this and be like WOW that was new ive never seen that before or will they go oh another members wall that looks like young planets and a pop machine named after there clan.

this is very brief, im making a longer one for people who are actually serious about making a clan in the lbp community.

I got a question... How many members does it need to make it an official clan? My friends say 8 but I think its more.

    BangGhost- Destroyed by a spirit
BreakingBrownies- Missing piece of a brownie
BangGhost + BreakingBrownies= Destroyed piece of a brownie caused by a spirit

What I don't understand is why clans are needed.
I agree with a way for sackpeople to socialize and add others, but I don't see much use in clans.
Besides, we're all in one big happy (and useful) clan right now.

I agree with Jsp0t, we're all one big clan as LBPC, we need nothing else.
What do you have in clan that you can't get in LBPC?
-Clans have members walls: every member is listed on LBPC XP Leaderboard, and then there's warlord_evil's poster
-People in clans socialize: let's not go round that loop. There's more than enough threads for that here. There's 'Introduce Yourself', 'Help!', 'Find Other Happy Gadders'. All that, and in a clan all you have PSN Messages, and maybe a Clan Noticeboard
-People in clans make levels together: Same loop as last time, just Find Other Happy Gadders!
-People in Clans have Rep, Status: MOAR IN LBPC!!! There's normal Rep AND LBPC XP.

I'm just trying to say that:

"If you want to be in a Clan or make a Clan, don't go through the pilava of making one or searching for he perfect one, just Log On to LBPC and take a look in the Forums/Blogs/Visitor Messages/LBPC XP Pages. All of your clanning needs are there, and more!"

Even Mm say this is a fantastic resource for LBP Players, and it is. So, if you aren't already, make the most of it! You'll meet friends, learn cool tricks, socialise with a Community as awesome as it is big, and you'll have a great time.

But why can't we all play LBP2 together....

Default How NOT to make a Clan

Since Young Planet became popular, almost every single person in Little Big Planet wants to be in a clan or even own a clan.

Today, there are dozens of clans in Little Big Planet that almost everyone who plays Lbp frequently are in.

But some clans are simply a room with text, which is a problem to me because clans should at least have some good detail in them. So I made a list here on what NOT to do if you're ever thinking of making a clan, or if you're willing to change your current one.

-Do not take a Clan HQ Template (Too many clans will look identical)
-Do not copy layout designs from other clans, I've seen this clan Audio Push that almost takes everything from Young Planet, except that it was done horribly
-Do not say that the clan "isn't for noobs" because it makes your clan look noob just by saying that
-Do not make the recruitment center just a hallway with mouthes talking about the clan, at least have pictures and examples of the type of people you're looking for
-Do not refuse any opportunities for ally clans or wars, because it can add more reknown to your clan

    Happy clanning

Clans CAN be useful. A year ago or so, I made a clan which I think is a new type of clan -- A clan that doesn't participate in clan wars, is all about creating with eachother and having fun, and has Admins and Moderators. Once someone joins, he/she isn't bound to the clan and can freely join anything else they want. To seperate it from the rest, I called it a group rather than a clan, although I and a few others also use the word "closed community" very much.
Within that clan, many people have met new creators and we're almost all in eachothers' friendslists now. Many in my clan are also members of LBPC. We've been having a great time in that clan.

I'm saying it was a new type of clan because I had searched for LBP clans a lot, and didn't find any like this. Things may have changed during the year, because several members of Therium (my previous clan) and Nation of Creation (my current clan) have created their own clans, and incorporated my ideas into their clans.

So you see, clans CAN be useful. It's just how you use them..
Oh, yeah, also.. The thread I link to in my sig is kind of outdated. The starting post is in control by somebody else (on my request), but there's a lot of confusion going on there, so i'm going to create a new thread soon.

More importantly you need to play games where you benefit from being in a clan.

So are you implying that every clan is the same?

When ATL and I created Young Planet, we didn't create it so that it would become popular or to block out "noobs" because, in a sense, we were noobs ourselves. Don't get me wrong, I appreciated the popularity, but my main goal for Young Planet was to create a team of people who could dig LBP out of the non creative rut that it was in at the time when bomb survivals and jump survivals became popular and suck creativity from everyone.. The most common misconception about Young Planet is that we are conceded, but thats not what we aim for. The reason we became popular is because, like spencer said, we work as a team and EVERYONE is treated equally, have you ever noticed how there is no ranking system?

The best advice I could give for anyone making a new clan is to be creative and don't make a clan for the purpose of fame, but for a goal.

Ive made a clan on lbp i was stupid when i first made it but then i talked to christwolf (akatski leader)
and he told me what i did wrong and everything
and im fixing that right now and im hoping that my clan can become a place where everyone make new friends and hang out.

I have tried my hands at making clans too many times to count, they looked good for the first three minutes or so, but as the player progressed in through the level, it lost detail, and faded to a boring room and scoreboard, etc. I have tried making a clan maybe a good dozen times or more, I know, that IS alot, but I'm not ever fully satisfied, only ONCE was I face forward in love with a clan, STA, but that clan slowly faded from LBP, part of it my fault, but that is not the point, My point is, All the Crappy Clan levels out there force me to stop playing the nooby clan levels and just make one! There are really only Five decent clans I can thinkk of that still exsist, so Bigboijb, ATL, Yeah, I was nooby with how i tried to join YP, somewhat desperately, but I wanted to hurry up and Get in a reasonable clan! To all the clans that are offended or affected by this post, im sorry, but I had to say my word......If anybody has a suggestion for a Good clan, tell me, Im not looking for a clan with "skills" like akatsuki or Kreator Wolves Clan, im looking for an actually decent clan, that has motives similar to YP, but that arent COPIERS! Come on, S.O.S from these nooby clans! (Im sorry for any offense)

All the good clans should have a joint project to generate a little competition and build interest in them.
