Hello from the Noob

hey everyone,
i just got LBP the other day, and i love it so far!

first noob question is if anyone know how to make a release latch

IE a door that will swing open when switch is pushed

I've tried using a Piston with a 1 blast, but it does not react

any help would be great

try connecting your door to the floor with a lump of dissolvable material and make that dissolve when the switch is activated

good idea,
i havent come across any dissolvable material , is there a TUT i should finish or a level in which i need to get it?

dissolvable material is the green material under basic materials. u might have to do some tutorial to unlock it

Heh i'd love to share my levels, but i might be a little hesitant being my first lvl wont be anything specail.

It's ok if your first level isn't too great- That's a problem lots of creators have when they first start out, but pratice makes perfect! Also, you'll get some useful feedback which will help you improve your future levels.

If you want even more feedback (gasp!), then try our F4F (Feedback 4 Feedback) service in the Level Showcase! Just click 'Post New F4F Level', leave some feedback on other people's F4F level and then they will play your level and give you contructive criticism etc in return.
It's really very useful!

Don't be afraid to hit me up with a message on here if you ever need help with anything! I've been here a while so I guess I'll most likely know the answer to your problem. And so could most people on this site. Everyone's really friendly! ^_^

Hi and welcome!! umm.. i'm not quite sure what u need the door to do, but i'm sure either the Tutorial or Help area of the forums will help u find what u need (or u can ask many of the friendly folk around here).. also in story mode it shows quite a lot of visible logic and u can get a rough idea of how to make things work. looking forward to ur first level post sometime yea?? have fun here
